Johnboy72 Losi JRX project

Ok been a long time, I’m on the FB some but figured I’d post a build thread here as I’ll have questions. I didn’t get into Losi until the XX car. Backstory: At the races and I pit next to my buddy that also owns a LHS. One of his regulars, an older gentleman brought some stuff and I hear Jesse say “...

Back for awhile

Wow, when was the last time I was here? Been awhile. Went big car racing so the vintage collection went bye bye. Still have a small bit of RC10s laying around. Army moved us to Fort Leonard Wood, MO back in April 2017. Lost a son a couple years later so was looking for something to do to keep my min...

Re: B4, B5 or World's for Street Stock / Bomber Dirt Oval Racing

If it’s the new worlds car, you already have the top shaft to run the modern spurs. You can make an RC10 run with the B4s! Since you picked up the new car, I’d say pick up some factory works or similar towers to mount the big bore shocks!

Re: Newbie with a story.....

That kit would be best if you’re running street stock. Most of the tracks I’ve raced at require center mount battery. I’ve run my Rayborn LTO RC10 versus the modern stuff with some success. My tub RC10 has done very well versus the RC10B4s! I’m actually back after a two year break and building my RC...

What did I miss in the past two years? Modern RC10

So what’s left of my RC collection has been sitting in boxes for over two years. I recently went through the storage closet and pull out my old runner. I think I need to convert it from an indoor dirt to loose dirt car. Anything I missed in the past two years that I’ve been gone? Or same ole tricks ...

Re: Johnboy's Raborn Invencer

As far as rubber tires, I just power troweled the track. Foams and rubber both work well. Hope to start testing soon!

Re: Johnboy's Raborn Invencer

Missed 10 APR 16's race but good news is the weather is finally shaping up. So this weekend we'll be putting in a lot of work to get the outdoor track ready. I'm also hoping to begin testing with a full pack and large side wing! So all caught up and I'll update this as we go. Looks like I'm stuck wi...

Re: Johnboy's Raborn Invencer

I honestly was considering that body for my Prostock. There is even a guy here in NY that picked two up awhile back and has one for sale. Would save me the trip to Michigan or wherever that guy is that makes that body. Ok, just like Johnny Cash's Cadillac, my plan went well until I tried to put it a...

Johnboy's Raborn Invencer

Ok so I've been away from the site for a bit. I've been dumping money into the big oval car and selling off my collection. Then I was sucked back into the sport and began campaigning my old trusty Raborn LTO car along with trying my hands at a CW sprint car. Luckily shortly after inquiring about a r...

Losi parts

Ok, I am not an early Losi guy. My first Losi was a XX. I've been given someone's pile of parts and I believe they are all JRX or JRX T parts. I'm surprised no one hasn't done a history timeline like the RC10 history thread. I can post up on the "What is it" thread but I figured if I post ...

Re: Sideways, the ugliest Sprint car I've ever laid eyes on.

So it seems I'm stuck with this thing. I've sold off a majority of my collection to fund my full size race car. Lately I've been suckered back into racing. Been having some fun. For the hell of it, I put the Sideways on the track. It actually brought a smile to my face. Fast forward and I see a Losi...

Re: Racing Raborn LTO against modern stuff.

The thrown together EDM body. Plan on picking up some lexan and bending up a new body since I picked up the wrong size last time. This deck is too thin and the sides/roof were some left overs from an older one I made. https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/12360244_10204735955552...

Racing Raborn LTO against modern stuff.

Ok, so I was suckered into returning to a local track (Chipmunk Hill) to spectate. I saw some old friends and felt like it was time to see what I had remaining in my collection. (I had sold the majority of my collection to fund my full size car) I thought of breaking out my personal racer (currently...
