Curtis Husting's RC10 tub-frame. How did he bend it?

Hi guys, haven't logged on in a few years. As i'm getting more and more acquainted with manufacturing operations through my job, I was curious how Curtis Husting might have bent the first RC10 tub frame into shape. I'm still a novice when it comes to sheetmetal work, but i'm eager to learn. http://w...

Re: Where are all the b2's of the world

OK so today i won another b3 on ebay. I figured i'd have another one around to bash and stuff. I won and payed for it. 75$ with shipping. I figured i got a good deal. At closer inspection of the vehicle i think it may be a b2, but i need your inspection, since i'm the noob of the forum. These are th...

Re: Where are all the b2's of the world

Yes the shortest run of all RC10 kits. It took me a while but I ended up getting a new built one on the bay for under $100. The listing showed it with no body and didn't state it came with a body. B2 bodies are also very hard to find so I was pleased when I got it it came with a clear body  ...

Re: Where are all the b2's of the world

because it was very short-lived... most everyone agreed the B2 was too hard to set-up for the average driver. There's even records of some top-dogs that reverted back to their worlds car after a few months with the b2. Yes it won the worlds in 95 when just released, but it was replaced relatively q...

Where are all the b2's of the world

So i've been checking ebay daily for weeks now and i simply can't find an rc10b2. Every time i type it in it brings up a listing of rc18b2s. I have a functional rc10, b3 and b4, and the b2 is the only one left of the 2wd family which i have to find...for now (well it's only time before a b5 gets rel...

Thunder Tiger Phoenix BX and BX II

I can't find a single website that will tell me what's different in the two buggies. I know there's an XB which is brushless, but that is not the one i'm talking about. I found a Phoenix BX on ebay and Phoneix BX II. I wanted to see if the BX II offered enough changes to be worth the mark up, and i ...

Re: My first rc10 restoration (pink chassis!)

another popular solution to the steering was using a zip tie on the saver side (purple area). a small one fits really nice between the little out croppings on the sides of the steering piece. that motor is stock (as far as I can tell). do you see how the plastic endbell and can are notched so you c...

Re: My first rc10 restoration (pink chassis!)

I've been busy with other stuff lately, so i didn't have time to dedicate to the car. I finally got some more work in. Here's the results. I didn't have the plastic rod that holds the battery down so i decided to make one instead. I could go out and buy one but i'm trying to do this car with as litt...

Re: My first rc10 restoration (pink chassis!)

well i found why i couldn't find the spring yet the diff gear worked. There were 2 plastic spaces and one of those split washers which have a slight spring effect. Very basic, but i guess it worked. I did find out that there's a bearing missing in the diff gear (supposed to be 2, right?), and anothe...

Re: My first rc10 restoration (pink chassis!)

i'm not home so i can't take pictures right now. Is it the ball diff thrust spiring? Off the top of my head I can think of two spings that are used on the stealth. Neither are in the case per se. One is the slipper spring. The other is the ball diff thrust spring that resides inside the outdrive. I ...

Re: My first rc10 restoration (pink chassis!)

ok i'm in the garage right now and have another question. I'm rebuilding the stealth diff, but apparently there's supposed to be a spring inside according to a worlds edition manual, but there was no spring in this one. Is this a big issue? Diff seemed to work fine before i took it apart. Need to k...

Re: My first rc10 restoration (pink chassis!)

oops, i didn't notice there was a second page already. I tried 3 different techniques in cleaning the parts. For starters, i washed everything with soap and brushed the dirt off with a tooth brush and a toothpick. The gearbox, which i did first, i dipped in hydrogen peroxide and left them in the sun...
