Advice on finishing touches for gold pan resto?
Took apart my '86 Gold pan... For first time since, well 1986, when I bought over winter break in college. Bleached the white parts cleaned off all the residue from double sided tape, and threw it back together. It will be a runable shelf Queen for the most from now on. Looking for some advice on fi...

Looking for a lipo that will fit sideways and in the stock battery cups, like yours, mate. Can you tell me make/model/online shop to get it?

Classic World's basher built out of parts
On EDiT: This should be in the plain old buggy section, not the rere section, sorry, accident. Mods fee free to fix it. So, I started out here as a poor innocent sucker, 40-something dad who wanted to convert my old '86 gold pan from my first year in college, to easy peasy brushless power. I was al...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
i did exactly what you are talking about with my old gold pan (before reverting it back to stock again), and it came out fine. The gold pan (unless it's a B-stamp) won't take the Stealth transmission unless you drill it. so i bought a used bare B stamp chassis off ebay and used it as a drill guide t...

Re: what's a good brushless basher motor for a 6-gear gold p
Chris, I already have a couple of stealth'd rc10's: a rere worlds and a classic worlds (more or less) that I built up out of parts. And I have a couple of spare stealth's lying around to boot. The reason for the six-gear is its my original from 30 years ago when I was a first year college student. I...

what's a good brushless basher motor for a 6-gear gold pan?
i don't want to destroy the 6-gear tranny. are 17.5T blinky motors about right or are even they too much torque?

what size front wheel bearings for the original classic?
i've four different sets of front wheels for original classic gold pans, and one set of 30 year old bearings. they still spin like crazy but with Avid's great prices on bearings, i can afford a buck each bearing to get kitted up with some newer stuff. thing is, i'm not 100% sure which size to order....

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
Just buy a 6565 USA case and 6570 idler, that converts you back to old school and no more problems. I think the idlers are mostly to blame but you can't use old idler in worlds case. I have seen the video. Thanks for clarifying the order you tried things in, it was confusing (to my newbieness). Swe...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
A new 9601 B4 top shaft is only about $7 online so it's not like you're screwed if AE can't/won't help. Yeah, $7 is nothing, I noticed that after the fact, not worried about going broke over that. Sooo... would you say that IF my top shaft is bad, (and we don't know that it will be), I will: 1) ord...

Re: advice for selling a vintage gold pan?
Thanks guys. Based on your advice, I'll probably keep my old body then when I sell the rest of the car. Yes, it is original but i'm not looking for a goldmine, (i haven't even put it up for sale yet). just market rate, whatever happens to be. the reason i started this thread is, i wanted to keep the...

Re: advice for selling a vintage gold pan?
here is the body that i might or might not sell with my original cadillac gold pan: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/KnEzeSXJq8nmwwcFN1cdUauSlwKcBW7KrDbmSO49202d=w478-h637-no again, if you think this body would enhance the value to the average collector-buyer, i would sell it with the car, but if i...

yes, i was warned of this. and damned if it isn't true. i went into this thinking i was just going to "upgrade" my old gold pan, then put the real money into a 1/8 4wd racer. now look at me.ChisaiKuso wrote: As you are now discovering, RC10s multiply faster than rabbits.

Re: pics loaded...Narrow arm, old gold pan converting to Wor
Aaand... I just went even nuttier. I bought a new in box rere World's off ebay, so now I have my original Cadillac gold pan, a "worlds" i build out of mostly older parts (black CE tub, no attention to color originality, CVD axles with original rc10 sized axle stubs in the rear), and now a ...

what are the typical parts to replace in a non-stealth?
My 30 year old gold pan with a 6-gear is mostly cleaned and reassembled for prettier shelf-sitting. The original 6-gear has always worked and never been opened. I did run a few packs with a BL Reedy 3300kv/25c lipo through it, but it still passes TA's "how to test your diff": when I hold t...
