Re: Is this a Grasshopper?

Honestly it's isn't worth much, you should have fun with it. Build it up and do all the crazy stuff you did as a kid. I once set up a Grasshopper 2 with a 12 turn motor, it was a wild rocket. The rear tires would balloon as is screamed by on the street. Yeah, I see what you are saying about not wor...

Re: Is this a Grasshopper?

That appears to be a Grasshopper. looks like the 380 has been replaced with a 540 motor and it has the CRP front shock and tower upgrade. Thanks to the re-re's parts are plentiful to get this back on the road Thanks for confirming that for me. I doubt I'll fix it up and keep it, I have to many cars...

Is this a Grasshopper?

I picked this thing up the other day, it's not in the best condition, but it's an rc car and I can't pass them up when I see them. I'm pretty sure it's a grasshopper, but just want to confirm it. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg305/cautiousone/1-953.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg305/...

Re: RC10GT bodys nowhere to be found!

I just picked this body up on eBay. The guy does all the work, it came cut and painted. I paid $31.00 for it and free shipping. Please ignore the ugly green Losi wheels, I slapped those on it since I'm running it on pavement and I don't want to destroy the factory wheels that came with it. htt...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

From my experience with the GT (pretty much from day one with either the Dudgeon or the original GT) the biggest problem with the trucks was balancing rear grip with a reasonable (OK, semi reasonable) (OK, huge) amount of horsepower. The .12 engines always produced LOTS of power and therefore findi...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

I'm sure I have thoroughly pissed off all my neighbors on this nice Sunday afternoon by running the GT up and down the street 100 times. Its a free country...they can move anytime they like 8) Todd I love your attitude, soon as one of the neighbors sticks a for sale sign in the yard, I'll...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

You are asking all the questions I would ask if I had just picked one up. I will follow along and learn lots. I have a friend who wants me to fix a non working nitro car and I haven't the first clue on them. There seems to be lots of videos online about nitro engines and things. Try youtube for hel...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

Well I went down and got some fuel for the GT today and it runs like a champ. Not as fast as I thought it would be though, I'll have to look into removing that carb restrictor and doing some tuning to it. Any suggestions on how I should go about tuning it? I've never tuned one of these before. Now I...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

Great score for $12! I would use Byrons Race 2000 20% Make sure you pull out the white carb restrictor and tune, should go very fast! Pull start should work well as long as you don't try to pull it when it's hydro locked! Thanks for the info on the fuel and that carb restrictor, I'll check ...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

I'll be on the hunt for one though, I don't really want to run it much without one. I'll keep my ey...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

Well, Well, Well, look what I found down in the bottom of the motor, a pile of sludge. Didn't have to soak it in hot water, just cleaned all the goo out of it really well and sprayed it down with WD40 and it works good as new. Did have an issue with that pull starter though, it came unwound on me an...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

Looking at the face of the flywheel you should be able to turn it counter clockwise. Go ahead and pull the starter off there too it could just as easily be gummed up in the crank case. Try the hot water for a couple min though too. Yeah, I can't make it budge in either direction. I'll pull the engi...

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

Speaking of that flywheel, should I be able to turn that by hand? I took the head off and it's spotless in there, but I was trying to get a grip on that flywheel and give the motor a spin and it ain't happening.

Re: RC10GT I picked up today...

Oh yeah, any suggestions on what kind of fuel to buy for this thing? I see many different types offered and I have no clue as how to go about choosing one of them.
