I picked this thing up the other day, it's not in the best condition, but it's an rc car and I can't pass them up when I see them. I'm pretty sure it's a grasshopper, but just want to confirm it.

That appears to be a Grasshopper. looks like the 380 has been replaced with a 540 motor and it has the CRP front shock and tower upgrade. Thanks to the re-re's parts are plentiful to get this back on the road

Thanks for confirming that for me. I doubt I'll fix it up and keep it, I have to many cars sitting around now. I'm just going to sell this one off for a parts or repair car, maybe I can find someone who needs the parts? Thanks again... Damon

Honestly it's isn't worth much, you should have fun with it. Build it up and do all the crazy stuff you did as a kid. I once set up a Grasshopper 2 with a 12 turn motor, it was a wild rocket. The rear tires would balloon as is screamed by on the street.

Yeah, I see what you are saying about not worth much. Some really nice one's have sold for as little as $40.00 on eBay. I'll just put it aside for now and maybe get it up and running one of these days and take it out and give it hell...

Since it says Mopar on it, I'm thinking they put in a 440.

First post.
I got this barely used Grasshopper from a co-worker for a good price. He aquired it from his uncle when he died and it has sat in his basement for the past 16 years. I told him I would gladly take it off his hands and give it a good...

True, true, the old knobby tires were not all that realistic, but they just looked sweet on those old school buggies. Better looking than the crop of tires that followed in my opinion.
i've had a grasshopper on my amazon list forever. just for giggles.
well last week my aunt bought it for my b-day. shipped from japan (odd when there are tons of us sellers)
arrival was estimated late july to early august, yet it arrived yesterday...

Just looking at those MonsterHoppers makes me feel the need to build one. I think it would be more fun than just getting a Mad Bull.
Or at least I think it is. I was searching through my stuff trying to find my old super champ and found no sign of it but I came across a chassis for a grasshopper.
Now I am contemplating the fate of this little critter. I have all the wheels for...

Good to know. Probably will just put it back into storage. Its a back burner type thing to about 7 other projects any way. Wish I found my super champ instead. But sadly it seams some whow the super champ is long gone
HI!... Picked this Tamiya Grasshopper II up off Ebay. In pretty good shape. I'll be restoring this one to bone stock out of the box condition.

HI!... Well my decals showed up today. Still waiting on a NIP body to show up. Still having a hard time finding original GRASSHOPPER II front/rear wheels. This one came with some other cars wheels on it.
HI!... Well I had a Tamiya Grasshopper when I was 12 (1985). So I decided to get one of the re-releases. So today I picked up my brand new Grasshopper. Here's a few pics.

HI!... Well this one already has full AVID ball bearings (sealed) in it. It's currently got the stock 380 motor in it. It's a shelf queen. If it ever gets run it will get one of the many new 540 Technigold motors I have and a lipo.
I have been looking around and decided I would share one of my completed re-builds. I decided to give my old Grasshopper to my nephew last christmas but I couldn't just hand it over in the condition it was in so I decided to re-build it. In went a...

Grasshoppers and hornets rock!
My buddy got a grasshopper, I convinced my parents to get me a hornet cause it was faster. My buddy got a black motor and soon I was begging for a bigger motor. Parents said no cause I got the car with the bigger...
I have not been goofing with RC cars for a few years but I got the itch again. I bought a new Grasshopper and built it stock. Found the Ampro YouTube channel and loved the improved front end and threw that on with a Tamiya black motor and it's a...

Super super cool! I ran that body, and the front shocks on my original Hornet. Pretty sure it didnt handle any better, but those were the few extras my parents let me get. Generally I had to patch my RCs together as they broke. For some reason the...
