Re: What is the black material on composite craft chassis

Graphite, just carbon fiber. Usually a super fine weave but could also be isotropic.

Re: What is the black material on composite craft chassis

Black CF, without a weave pattern, is usually sold as unidirectional. Isotropic is the fab process where each ply of CF is laid at a 45 or 90 degree angle to the previous one.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

Duratrax Did they make their own chassis or was this made by a 3rd party? I wasn't even aware that duratrax made composite chassis. Is this unidirectional carbon fiber over a core? Duratrax had their own chassis but I'm not certain if it was a resale deal or not. You can ID a Duratrax by the 6 scre...

Re: Carbonfiber T3 RTR

Are you going to be using a battery voltage alarm for the LiPo? The Super Rooster doesn't have any LiPo protection.

Re: Carbonfiber T3 RTR

Looking great dude, well worth your efforts 8)
I’m with FT on the alarm super cheap easy to use tiny insurance
Honestly I won’t even plug a lipo into an esc that doesn’t have LVD without one.

Re: Getting a Chassis Gold Anodized

I used Batemans and the service and price was great. The gold color he used is a pretty good match (edit: some of the later darker chassis) but unfortunately he had to strip my chassis from black. Because of this the chassis has a sorta dull color to it instead of a slight sheen. Maybe there is more...

Re: Crystal/module questions for PCM radio

You can swap channel crystals from 76 to whichever you have on hand. You are not breaking FCV regulations by doing so. Additionally, any Futaba surface module will work in the PCM 1024. I have used the 27mhz AM module, FASST module, and a converted KO Propo ASF module without issue. I'd stick with F...

Re: for those not on Facebook... injection molded parts rolling out

my understanding is (from RPM anyway) that it isnt that they cant run the old parts, it is that they cant afford to stop making new parts long enough to make the old parts. Their machines are busy, and pumping out new modern product makes them more money than pumping out a few hundred old parts and ...
