Helicoil is best. It's a tiny repair though so care is needed.
Alternately, do as you mentioned, run a screw from inside and turn it into a stud/nut arrangement. A single nut is fine, along with a washer.

Re: rc10ds axles 8868 vs ASC9670 b4 stub Axle /general ds axle options
The b4 axles will work they will be slightly wider and need to use blue spacer. About 2mm.
All the hubs shown except the b4 hubs will work. B4 hubs pushes out approx 3/8".
The bones are short. Maybe like 30-35mm?

Re: RC10T3 Shocks
Yeah probably a small screwdriver with an oversized #4 washer on it would work for installation. Something that allows you to stack the innards yet allow you to pop them into place as well.
A small jewelers flat blade would probably be the best bet to pop the seals out.

Re: gold 8-32 aluminum screw alloy?
They were originally pulled from the aviation industry and someone out there probably has the drawing and part number for them.. I have found almost identical rivets on aircraft surplus website but never those screws. I too would suspect 7075 for the material. Though I think 2024 or 6061 is more com...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
They could be 550 but could also by any one of industrial motor armatures. Like from a cordless drill or blower motor or something.

Re: Blue tub RC10 RPM build
The trans is this one is the 2.65 ratio. Supposed to be for a truck, but all the new buggies are doin' it so I don't feel bad.
It doesn't fit in a rpm world's buggy unless you do some serious trimming to fit around the arm mounts

Re: Shocks
I don't think you will go wrong with Bilsteins or Gabriels or Delco ones. Rock Auto lists like 900 shocks for that chassis but there are some ac Delco ones that are in the same price range as the Gabriel's, Bilsteins are always more expensive.

Re: RC10 Team Car #6035 black tub chassis collectibility
New built or partially assembled cars are kind of a unique bird. There is value in the non used aspect of the car. But once you assemble it the value drops. But I think all this valuation today is way overblown, that kind of price is something I would never pay, I'd collect a bunch of new and lightl...

Re: Best current generation shocks to fit RPM Worlds arms RC10
The truck shocks are usually the right thing. 1.02 front and 1.32 rears.
Some of the newer shocks are shorter bodies in the rear (1.18). After that all the big bores went metric.

Re: Revtech motor ID??
There is a motor guide thread on here for old motors. Since it's a modified though, it's easy enough to pop the armature out and see what the windings look like and they probably marked it somehow to indicate the turns. A quick view at the comm tabs will tell if it's a single double etc. If you see ...

Re: Rpm rc10bum
Yes it is definitely rare in the condition that you have purchased it. I would be hard pressed to run that because unlike a tub or graphite chassis, it easy to rash up, which significantly reduces it's value. The steering enhancement kit alone sells for a bunch so I wouldn't want to risk breaking th...

Re: Technology "Firsts" in the RC industry (with pictures)
I think there were a lot of firsts in the rc10, and it was based on research Roger Curits did at 1:! race events studying dune buggies and race vehicles.

Re: Give a pro driver a crappy car experiment
When the rerelease world's car came out, some of the factory guys were building them and running them and running against the b4.x and b5 buggies and were doing a little too well with them. I believe it was discouraged for them to keep running them. Great drivers will make anything run better but it...
