Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
I'm on the fence with this one. On one hand, I like box-art restorations for vintage RC's as they are immediately recognizable and for the nostalgia. On the other hand, I'm very curious to see what Chuck does with this. I think it's gonna be good regardless which way he goes. A nice Mid always gets ...

Re: Optima Pro
Absolutely stunning Derek! Very nice indeed! Oh, and thank you for formatting the pic in letterbox so it opens almost full screen.
This begs the question; why don't modern RC buggies look this good?
I have another question, how are you at white-lettering tires?

Re: Turbo Mid Score
I enjoy this thread. What motor are you using? Better be a lemans! Thanks! I'm looking for a 240ST Le Mans. I have one in my Turbo Ultima, but I think it's staying there. Marwan's amazing tires arrived, it's all mocked up, ready for the new chassis, arms and the rest of the plethora of parts I've b...

Raider and Rocky Gearbox Mod - How to Run Taller Gearing (bigger than a 15T Pinion)
Ever since I was a kid, I was underwhelmed with the top end speed of my Turbo Raider. I saved my money and ditched the LeMans 05 stock engine after a while in favor of a Revtech 15x4 turn motor and it was better but still not great. The car accelerated well but quickly tapered off as it is so under ...

Tamiya Nissan King Cab
The KC was my first hobby grade RC car and I've been recently trying to find one that wouldn't kill my wallet, I managed to score this one locally for a good price. Overall its looks pretty good, guy told me its been in storage for a couple decades, I'll be cleaning it up and getting a new body for ...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
FWIW, I've owned 3 or 4 Mids and all of them were missing part OPM-9. You can see it here on page 13 of the manual. OPM-9.JPG I've never actually seen one but I think it's rubber. It's meant to seal the underside of the belt cover where the belt exits the rear gearbox - directly above the motor. Th...

Greetings from Oklahoma
Recently got back into RC Cars and restoring vintages ones. Started with the Tamiya Falcon and a Losi JRX2 back in the day. Now I've restored an original Lunch Box and Blackfoot. My Next project is this RC10 I picked up on eBay and is currently being shipped to me. I've never owned one an looking fo...

I have literally never heard of Energy, Illinois. Sounds like a town name that would be used in a movie.coxbros1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 8:44 pmI am an Illinoisan tooBattleTrak wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 7:01 pm Welcome..that’s a great collection of vehicles! Re: Optima Pro
The Optima Pro is such a nice, sleek design. I acquired a used, painted Pro body years ago but never had the appropriate chassis for it, it's nice to see how it looks built up.
