Doesn't exactly ID the motor but according to the '91 RCCA Buyers Guide Bud's offered at least one mod motor with a fixed end bell. "Modified Stock No 7215 is a super-hot 17-turn single fixed end bell bushing motor."
The pod is narrow because it was originally from Parma's 1/12 Euro Panther. The same pod was used on the 1/10 Sprint, Funny Car and Hemi cars but the 1/10 Parma Pro Panther had it's own wider rear pod. Unfortunately mine are either shorter or longer. You might be able to use a RC10L axle, which are about 1 3/8" long, by adding a spacer between the nut and the diff hub.
My assumption on the approximate age would be 1985-1989. I can't ID the wing mounts on Ruffy's car but the two types that GeneralZod posted were both from Bolink.
Ruffy's body looks like the same as the bodies Barry Baker and Ralph Burch had on their cars in this pic...which according to the race results were Associated Nissan bodies.
