Re: Considering a Bandit. Questions
It’s a lot different. The front bulkhead is wider on a bandit, front tower incompatible. Front caster blocks and steering is all different. The trans and arm mounts are one piece so you have no adjustability and it’s narrower. Trans internals are different as well as the ratio. The rear arms are the...

Doesn't proline or rpm have a pro-gearbox for these cars too?

Re: LSII 'Late Model' Build
'phase 4' - got the control rods done in traditional traxxas white rpm ends of course ... and got the top plate finished, drilling a perfect hole is a skill i dont possess even with a drill press .. so it was slow going, but turned out well. - made a battery hold down out of 3 pieces of 3mm cf stack...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
Slow and steady wins the race - but maybe not at the pace I'm working! I've spent even more time trying to get my CF process down and I'm still struggling, though at this point I think I've exhausted all possible ways to do it wrong so hopefully my next attempt is a smashing success! I did manage to...

Re: Traxxas Blue Eagle Impulse Buy
I'm calling this one good for now. Someday I'll pick up the correct body and decals and tidy up some odds and ends. Thanks again for all of the help!

Re: LSII 'Late Model' Build
got the body painted today and did the soldering, waiting on a longer sensor wire, went with bullets on the motor for now until i know what i want to run in it that will make things more simple at the track but adds some weight, main wiring is some old vintage 'stage III super 13' i had, me likes it...

Re: LSII 'Late Model' Build
.. the truck is as done as its going to get for this thread, its been fun :) .. theres still lots of final touches and details to be addressed before putting it on a track for sure, but the basic truck is done except for a sensor wire which they screwed my order up and gave me a 90mm instead of a 20...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
Big update today! As I predicted in my last post, I ran out of wrong ways to make carbon fiber! It's been a long and frustrating process, but I got it figured out now. Over the weekend I managed to make a ~3mm plate of carbon fiber with only minor cosmetic imperfections that was big enough for...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
So now that I've got a handle on making carbon fiber I decided to take a quick detour and play around with suspension arms because for some reason I'm not happy unless I'm struggling to solve a problem. Anyway it's always bugged me that 1) the front arms are much shorter than the rear arms and 2) no...

Re: Your forever car...
That's like asking "Which of your children would you sacrifice?" The one I'd keep would be either CYANide or Barney, my first two custom-built Optimas...both took so much time to plan, re-engineer and build...probably I'd give the nod to Barney because you could drive that car anywhere. :m...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
After two weeks I'm finally finished with what was originally intended to be a "short, quick project" that turned out to be anything but. Most everything else I do on my CNC is simple flat piece machining, like cutting out the shock towers from carbon fiber. Suspension arms are entirely di...
