Old Technipower 540 motor

Post by SmallScaleSmitty »

I got this in an rc12l lot on ebay. I don't know too much about these but I thought it was cool it still had the original box and paperwork.

The endbells and brush springs are really neat on those motors, kind of rare. I know the Technigold version came with Tamiya Avante.

It's cool as hell! Don't let it go! I doubt it would bring much on the open market(especially right now :( ). It's a great piece though.

Nice score.

Tamiya had 4 hop up motors in the early 80's.

Black sprint motor.

Black endurance motor

Both of these were a sealeds mabuchi can with bushings and slightly different rotors.

Than a Technitune and a technipower.

These were far faster and had bearings and adjustable timing. Also were servicable.

The Technipower was the flagship motor with a wind around the 23t. ( standard in the Super Shot)

Later came the Technigold which was even faster again but also had stumpulling torque of around 430 g cm . Standard in the Big Wig and Porsche 959 and maybe some others.

All these motors were made by Mabuchi.

Later tamiya went to Johston motors.
Vintage . Older is Better !!!!!!! Vintage At Boondal, Australia.
