The difference, want and need, discuss.

Post by Synergy »

My better half is getting a little concerned that I have now collected 20 "toy cars" in the last 3 months (26 actually :D she don't see everything  ). I am having difficulty explaining the difference between want and need, she wants a new hand bag I need a worlds car, she has a hand bag I do not have a worlds car, This argument does not appear to be cutting it, any advice :?:

When you guys get into the hundreds and take up the all of the basement then come talk to me! And that does not include the 3 1:1 cars in the garage (she has to park outside in the snow). Oh and I should mention I have to move all this stuff 600 miles.

GOD I LOVE MY WIFE!

mate.. welcome to my life! I have all kinds of devious schemes including hiding cars at my Mums place, hiding them under/inside things/at work. Our "agreement" is that I can have 6 cars on top of the bookcase (I have over 50 in total  ). I've figured that I can only be interested in about 5 or 6 at a time so I rotate the ones on the bookcase with the ones in exile to keep me amused. After 20 odd years of RC obsession I have come to the conclusion that women and RCs are incompatible. Then again, would you really like wearing a handbag? No I guess you wouldn't, so it kinda makes sense!!! :D :D

Well, not really! My girlfriend is a bit into rc cars too! When she first saw the AE RC18R with that strange Citroen body she cryed "oh, they are sooo sweeet!" and I had to get her one for her birthday! She also likes all kinds of micro cars and monster-trucks like Savages with "cool" painted bodies. She likes my "Pussy Waggon" painted Savage very much ...
She often comes with me to the races and likes to do things like collecting input for the tech charts and stuff like that. She's also wuite good in taking photos. My only problem is: she's not into vintage cars that much. When I tell her "I got that one when I was younger" or "I always wanted to have one of these as a 13 year old" she is ok with that. But I am afraid that this will come to an end very soon with my new old addiction to RC10's ...

Well, I think all I have to do is buying her a new micro car with a Beetle body.

They never understand. My wife started harping on me last night that I have too many cars. We are going to Cary Sunday to get an auction I won last week. I just tell her about some of you guys cars and she kinda shuts up. Then I tell her I could drink and smoke for a hobby and she usually leaves me alone.
BTW, I got this auction for $305. What do you think?

Shodog, that is a sweet boat. I can't imagine anything else on the mantle look that good.

ra272, what can I say. Funny stuff man, funny stuff.
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.
