To Dye Or Not To Dye

Post by 97T595 »

what does every one think about dying the older nylon parts. does it hurt the value or is it everyone is dying everything black to hide how ugly and yellow nylon gets over the years. im just curious on how everyone feels as i found some old litespeed flouresent yellow dye and well i have a graphite converted bullet that i think would look very sharp with some yellow parts. discuss away. :D

I like the nylon colour very much but to be honest: I am thinking of dying some parts black on my Graphite. The are way to yellow-ish for my taste. I personally don't like the other colours like blue, red or yellow ... :?

I have never been a fan of the straight white the parts come in. On my RC10's even though I use new parts, I like to dye them a color

I think the only buggy that will stay white would be my new built 6016

I think if your looking at the collectability aspect then keep the parts white. [/img]

i love the white parts, if they are not in too bad a shape, but i must say that dye is a great way to revive the more worn and wary bits:) i will keep my OG rc10 (on its way from scr8p) in white, but everything else is fair game and my 'scollins shortened rc10 beetle' looks sweet with the old parts dyed black!!

:D

Yes they are original RC10 size. I don't think I will get rid of them as I had to whisper sweet nothings in Melvin's ears to get them.
