Here's my RC10s. I regretted selling my black tub worlds and bought these recently. One to race and the other to get ready for the shelf.
Does anyone know what the rear wheels are on the one with the white battery tray? They have a metal piece to which the main wheel body is screwed to. I've never seen them before.
Also the shocks on the one with the white battery tray are shorter is this correct?

Originally they were so the Associated guys could run Yokomo 2.2" wheels on their RC10s, like the 1989 Worlds cars, but I don't know why they were still used after 2.2" wheels to fit regular axles were available.
The front shocks on the original RC10 had a .56" stroke, and Team Car and Championship Edition had .71" shocks up front. The 'green' or gold shocks with the black caps are a different design from the original shocks, but they look the same.
I remember hearing about the RC10FX in the early 90s, kind of a hybrid of the Team Car and Championship Edition, I guess to keep costs down (anything imported was hideously expensive there; a Schumacher Bosscat 4WD buggy cost almost $500, about double the cost in most other countries). Besides the Yokomo wheel adapters there was nothing really special about the FX, just the combination of parts used.

Not sure why its there myself. It came with it when I bought it I just haven't got round to taking it off yet.
Thanks for all the good info guys
My guess is that either the battery cup section of the bulkhead was cut away to accommodate a battery wire and later they realized that the battery kept popping out so replaced it with that. Or it was used as a support for an esc.
