Moving forward, you can use the sliders from traxxas to replace those. The holes are slightly smaller...but that's a quick fix.

Sorry to ask again, but can anyone provide a link to the traxxas sliders that are referenced above?

Thanks! Looks like the second is a closer resemblance to the Thorp ones..

I think I need thorp pin drive axles.
Can I suggest that you look in to trying these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tamiya-53908-FROG-WILD-ONE-Universal-CVD-Drive-Shafts_W0QQitemZ200350884757QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2ea5d7e395&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262

I have a set of these and they are the CVD hop-ups for the Frog. They are a drop-in solution so may well fit with your Truck. When I get back home tonight, I'll check whether they have the pins in the outer axles and let you know....
EDIT: sorry I should have pointed you in the direction of these ones made by CRP (which are the ones I actually have). The outer axles definitely have the pins so you can fit the Sees and they are a straight drop-in solution: http://cgi.ebay.com/AXLE-CONV-KIT-Tamiya-Blackfoot-Monster-Beetle-CRP-9130_W0QQitemZ230374244235QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Parts_Accessories?hash=item35a35fff8b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

The issue is that the ball on the end of the thorp dog bone is larger than Tamiyas which means the drive cups are larger also. With no support from the ball, those CVAs will only be riding on the pin and will quickly wear out the slot on the thorp drive cup.

looks like the crp kit is just some re-re frog parts with old school crp rear hubs.
for $35 you would probably be better off just buying the frog parts labeled as such but without the crp hubs for only $16:

Good point. Although I don't think those outer axles have the pins for the Sees wheels.

Would the solution be to replace the drive cups as well as the dog bones? Guess that would mean getting rid of the Thorp cups though....

I have a set of sees wheels and they use the standard tamiya style cups. Do the newer axles have pins to hold the stock cups on like the older ones? I would think you could just pull the stock cups off and slide the wheels on.

thats what I had to do on my midnight pumpkin. the CVD's have the pin and take the stock plastic hub.

The outdrives of the thorp have a hex mounting to the diff and are sized differently in length. There is now way to use the stock stuff with it.

The ones that will work with the blackfoot are from the 4tec.
