The Chinese method

Post by RC10WORLD »

No erotic stuff here... hum, maybe for some?

You like carbon look? Perso, I am not a super fan of fiber glass so I covered my 10L chassis with Oracover called in the US UltraCote. No big money here, just a bit of patience and some hand work. Notice, there is a lot of color choices who can match a painted chassis.

You need:

- An iron
- Oracover
- Small bottle of pain + solvent
- Small brush
- charp blade

The trick here, I keep that from a good friend who is into F3A, is to use very low heat to avoid formations of bubbles. You should be able to keep you hand on the iron. You can check his work here: http://www.znline.com

Have all fun,

Mannekenpis.

Very clean job Tulsa. What is the brand and where did you find the adhesive?

most of the vinyl i get is made by 3m and is self adhesive with a backing on it. just peel and stick.the heavier vinyl also works as a chassis protector as it will take quite a beating............

For guys looking for the easy solution, the 3M adhesive is listed under the name: 3M™ DI-NOC™ Film.

This might help:

Only if you try to sell it on ebay as a "super-rare factory team option left over from a box of prototypes found in the corner of the warehouse after 15 years".
