It's no good, I'm sorry, I've tried to resist but I'm going to have to comment on this thread and bump it because I'm wetting myself with excitement waiting for mine to arrive and I know others have bought a few as well. Just looking at some of the pictures here has really got me hooked. I still don't know enough about RC10s to comment but at the moment this is my favourite chassis conversion. Oh man I feel like I'm 5 again and Christmas is coming.
Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Hey guys! I have a question: Has anyone had any problem setting the pinion/spur mesh on this baby? I'm using a 81 tooth spur and a 20 tooth pinion. I just can't get the pinion to reach the spur. It's like the transmission or suspension block is getting in the way. Anyone? I'm waiting on a few more front suspension parts and I'll post some pics when I'm done.
Thanks for pointing out this thead Mark (Ferretti).

i never put a motor in mine, so i tried it with that gear ratio. and your right, it won't mesh. the wire tabs on the the endbell are hitting the left a-arm mount.
with an 81/20, your at a 9.11 final drive. try an 84/21. that will give you a 9.00, and you should be able to mesh the gears without a problem. and the final drive is very close.

Ok, I just wanted to check and make sure I didn't build something wrong. The instructions are a little vauge. I have an 84 spur in my toolbox so I'll try that. I'm sure it will work. Thanks for checking.
Ron Jeremy wrote:Asso_man!, scr8p... did either of you have an issue with the lower shock mount holes in the rear arms?
Primarily due to finding this damn board, I went out and unboxed all my old RC stuff and got to tinkering with stuff.
One of the things I had forgotten is how the holes in the Tekin arms were too big and the screw just slides in and out.
yes | no | maybe ?
I've got a buggy and truck kit as well and noticed the holes for the lower shock mounts are too big. I'm not going to use them anyways, stock rear end for me.
I don't remember any problem with mounting the rear socks inside the arm holes, maybe try to use some longer screws? Anyway, I built it long ago, so can't remember exactly This is a pain to build anyway and the chosen design/materials are even more of a pain

True that the plastic is really hard to thread screws into but I have tons of faith that they won't back out while I'm putting in laps on the track
You might be onto something with the longer screws, I didn't try that...might give that a try if I decide to build it as it was intended to be built and sell it.
I have a nib champ car that came with all black parts. I recieved a tekin chassis nib from ebay. I plan to to combine both kits to build the tekin chassis kit to a complete car. Whats the active link all about . Do I need any other parts?

You have to take the nose plate and bend it to change the kick up. And I would hate to see you mess up that Team car.
you don't have to do that, just like you don't have to use the losi hub carriers. with their testing, that seemed to be the best...
thanks rctenracer for the chassis kit :) going to do a pretty much basic build nothing fancy. fyi the holeshot heat sink i added was not part of the kit.
I didn't know Tekin is(was) in the chassis business. I don't recall ever seeing this before. Anyone have info about this kit? Some big color pics would be nice. :D

I first read this before I went on my summer vacation, and thought oh you can order one of these sometime...
So I am finally getting closer to completing my Tekin conversion RC10 and cant seem to find a good body that fits well. Any suggestions or pictures of bodies on the old Tekin chassis? I went with the black and gold theme.

Can't help with the body - but I like the build! :)
Been away from here and the hobby for quite some time, mainly due to a huge move to a new house and the Photobucket buggers totally discouraged me to restore all the picture inputs I had made on this fantastic forum.
Now thanks...

Jeff provided a chart in this thread: referring to the Gold Label Dymond motors. Just for future reference.
Thanks for digging that out! Quite an obscure line of motors.
