kyosho FF-2 based midget
I got the rolling chassis of a 1/12 FWD kyosho Peugeot 205 over 10 years back. It had been in a display cabinet at the belgian Kyosho distributor for many more years. It had never been run, but the body was painted with a toothbrush. (Well, it looks that way. Anybody looking for this?)
About 2 years ago I converted it to a 1/18h 4-link monster truck.
(pic1)
Then last year I took the wheel size back down and lowered the CG as far as I could get while keeping the 4-link.
(pic2)
Now it's back to a more stock suspension set-up, but I kept the mini electronics and battery pack.
Not sure yet about the wheel and tire combo I'll go with.
I really want to go out and race this, but am not sure which class it will be allowed in and what kind of track it will end up at.

Well, it looked cool , had lots of suspension travel,justinspeed79 wrote:I voted for #1.
but it also flipped in every turn and wouldn't go straight ever
Not planning to go back there
That body still fits with the M-chassis wheels and tires.
I'll make a pic when it's done and add another option to the poll.
Or would you rather see those monster tires with the roll cage?

I hope I didn't start an avalanche of 1/18 stuff now

Re: kyosho FF-2 based midget
Been playing with the camera a bit.
How do you like this shot? The current tires and wheels are foams on original 5spoke YR-4's.
I ve driven the car with just a standard Johnson 540 at the local indoor track and it pulled a few big eyes: little land missile!
This is the track: And since they extended the shop, we also got an all new work area: above the shop.
Means we have to do stairs now, but thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for the airconditioning!
It used to be an oven in the summer.

Re: kyosho FF-2 based midget
I had completely forgotten about the poll that was at the start of this thread.
Whatever you choose guys, I'm not going back: the foams have dried up somewhatwhich makes the car drift a bit,but that kind of helps to keep it shiny side up too.
It's an absolute blast to drive while the first version was more like a dog that won't stop playing 'roll-over'
