Re: please send me a gift
I've always thought about asking buyers to do the same for me, but I don't really know the stipulations.
Does PayPal not offer protection if the payment is sent as a gift?
I understand they have to make money, but charging us $.50 when someone sends $3.00 is robbery.

Re: please send me a gift
From my understanding, if you send as gift, the sender pays a fee.... and the receiver gets the complete amount. On the flip side, you are apparently not as secure for PayPal Protection if something goes awry and you use gift.... it's meant to be someone you trust, and/or family or friends.....
I usually only send gift to friends or people I've personally traded with before, and don't usually ask for it.... although I am honoured when people trust me enough to pay me with gift...

Re: please send me a gift
All of the things I've bought from members here so far I've sent the payments as a "Gift." This way no fees are charged to the seller. As far as I'm aware I haven't been charged for using it. Though likes been said I'm pretty sure when you send the money as a "Gift" your protection is severely limited if you get any at all.

No protection, and no fees if funded from your balance, and you can choose who pays the fees sender or receiver, if funded otherwise.

Re: please send me a gift
It never asked me which party I wanted to pay the fees and it was funded from my bank account. It is possible that the person I sent the money to got charged something but I figure they would have mentioned it. Maybe the rules are different in different countries?

Re: please send me a gift
I just assume that I am going to get charged the paypal fees and price my items accordingly. If someone sends the funds as a gift, then it truly is one.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Re: please send me a gift
i don't care for the gift option at all due to no protection (as if anyone gets much protection on paypal anyway). i just add a little extra to help cover paypal fees most of the time without being asked. if you want that few extra cents then just raise the price of your item to reflect that. or you can always just ask that people cover the paypal fees but that is actually against their tos.

Re: please send me a gift
Bank transfer and funds seem to be the same, unless you have a premier account, when they charge you for everything, also do not add an address with a gift, as some people have been warned they will have their account blocked for misusing the gift service, as an address is usually a transaction necessity.
