well it was yesterday
after it being a garden ornament for two years i started to fix my jeep , spent sat cutting out the old floor well the floor was old road signs screwed to rusty cornflakes the fuel tank was strapped behind the seat and had more holes than the floor . someone had the bright idea that a v8 was better than a straight four so long term it will get a vw tdi i have some large sheets of alloy checker plate for the sides and will be making custom under seat lockers im still on the fence weather to put a bikini top on it or not it depends on weather it will fit under the roll cage (which was bolted to to the road sign floor . i am hoping to get all this done for the summer

This one or next? Seems like a pretty ambitious project to have done in a couple of months. That is, unless you've quit your day job to devote all your time to the jeep.

You know, I have never thought about the concept of putting a diesel in a Jeep before. I think it would be really cool to have one with an old Chevy 6.5 in it.

looks like a cj5 so a even a stock 4 would be ok.... i dont understand why people don't run a newer jeep 4 or straight 6...
Its a 1946 willys cj2a and i wish it had the original engine but that's long gone the reason for vw lump is easy to fix lots of torque and the obvious reason its a VW
The irony of something developed in WW II would be powered by a piece of German engineering
My DAD had a WILLYS back in 59 at our SHELL station in St.Pete we used it to push cars around and retreve cars out of low water,it was a 4 banger, was learning how the clutch worked till I ran it through the bay door, driving lesson over,we also had a 59 apache that I did get to drive alot. Johnny
