It is popular all over the world.

We http://www.sidsraceway.com will be holding our first event with Vintage classes on the 16th of June.

I will be running 2 of my cars, maybe 3 if I can get my son out to run one.

Rc10 gold tub, Rc10 graphite, Jrx2, Jrx2 proSE, Yok 870c (YZ10)

WE are not restricting battery or motor at the moment as our track although very large really gives very little advantage to pure speed. Also if you WANT to put a 12t double in a 1990s buggy.. its your dollar :D

Anyway.. I will have some video and pics I am sure.. so I will pass along the link to this when its available.

Thanks guys. Here are some pics of my simple paint job (I hate painting bodies).

I had some white paint, so the color choice was simple enough. At the last minute I thought to tape off the bottom edge to expose the gold tub. Yeah, I'll pat myself on the back on that one.

I put the nerfs back on without needing to cut the new body. I drilled for the nerfs 20 years ago and easily fit the Dahm's Warrior body. But she never ran another day. Now she is race ready!

I hope you guys don't have too many bumps and jumps on your tracks. Those are the ones that really kill classic cars.
(Well that and hitting stuff as we all know.)

Hot moters and high amp cells won't do nearly that much harm except for the hitting getting tougher to avoid and you hit stuff harder :)

I'll be putting my own tourer, built almost entirely from vintage stock, up against the local racers soon, but they have a good solution to keep speed down: the race lasts 12 minutes* and the only moter allowed is an HPI X30. That's 30 wounds :o ! Even your vintage Mabuchi RS540 has only 27
(*Already got new batteries LOL)

Only if your race would allow the RC10T than I would go. Probally 20 smoke as well. 8)

At least its 2 more guys with vintage trucks. 1992 is still vintage.

We had only 3 cars sign up for the vintage class ( maybe the rain scared the rest away ), but still we had a great time :D There was a lot of racers VERY interested in the class saying thay HAVE old cars at home and that next month they will bring them 8) Next Vintage race will be on July 1,2007

Pictures from the race will be up soon.

Its 2wd so there is no problem runing it with other 2wd cars  If we get 3 or more 2wd Trucks ( RC10T, Blackfoot, Big Bear .... ) we will make a seperate class

Rogna -

Sounds good to me.

Do we have to get the same motors as well, as mentioned eariler in the thread?
