4wd Hornet vs. optimas

Post by AscotConversion »

I don't know if this has been posted before, but this is a video of a 4wd Hornet conversion running in a Kyosho sponsored race. At abut 1:00, they show the car with the body off. Neat stuff.

That is a boomerang with a hornet body. Surprisingly enough it is a direct fit. Tamiya also sold a couple of body only sets that fit both the boomerang and the hornet.

Well - if its a boomerang - its the very first chain drive one I have ver seen!

Thats one hell of a long chain - did you see the path it takes around the rear gearbox!! :o

Cheers

Can that even be considered a Hornet any longer? Its hard to tell but it looks like only the frame is left.

The Fire Dragon body, among others... initially released as a Hornet "option" body ;)

This hornet was a more or less one off conversion project by the driver, not a kit. This car has been featured in some Japanese RC magazine way back. It slaughtered all those hotshots and optimas in that Kyosho race :)
