Re: Trail Rigging
Real cool! Such a good job with the truck realizm! I'm looking in the background convinced I'll see a 7" dude standing on the rocks with a 4oz (1/10 of 40oz ) in his hand checking it all out!

Funny you say that. Jester, the guy with the sik Jeep, has a scale cooler in the back full of scale beer and scale ice cubes. Well he rolled the Jeep in a tricky section. It was a bad fall and made a loud crash, the cooler busted open. In true 4X4 dude form, all Jester said was "MY BEER! "

Re: Trail Rigging
I'd like to do something scale with my Hi Lux. I'm more into scale stuff than just bashing an RC around. One of these days ...slotcarrod wrote:It was a great day and great fun! If you have never done scalers, I highly recommend it! Very zen!

Re: Trail Rigging
The Hilux only looks good, It sucks on the trail. I Chino modded the springs, got rid of the shouldered eyelet screws for the springs (all to get more flex), got rid of the center skid plate and diff covers for more ground clearence. Modded the steering and the truck still sucks on the trails. Don't get me wrong, it's 100 times better than stock, but it's no Trail Finder!Halgar wrote:I'd like to do something scale with my Hi Lux. The only way to make a highlift chassis work better, is to four link it and get rid of the stock tranny, or move it higher, but then you get high cg's!
After all this, I still love my Hilux!

Re: Trail Rigging
I know it's not the perfect truck, if there is such a thing, I've just always loved the scale looks of the running gear and hard shell. Unfortunately, my truck doesn't have the shell, but with the rere out there now I can get a close facsimile at a reasonable price. I've wanted one of these trucks since I got into RC about 10 years ago and never thought I'd have one. Now I have one and don't have the funds to do anything with it.
Have I mentioned that Christmas is just around the corner if anyone was wondering what to get for me? (hint: Hi Lux hop up parts and Yota body. )

Great vid. That little beast seems to go anywhere you point it. Have you done much for hop-ups to it or is it relatively stock?
