dualstrokes rc10t runner build

Post by dualstroke »

I have had this thing since brand new in 91-92.I have been collecting parts for the last month or two to build this one into a runner.Upon finding this site and doing some research I realized that some of the parts I have and that are on it are better suited for a shelfer build so I decided to save those in hopes to build an A stamp gold pan shelfer down the road.Lots of parts later and I am almost ready to start putting it together.Waiting on some aluminum c-blocks and steering blocks to come in,new diff gear, and some bearings(should be here today).I am converting it to 3/16 cvd's and t4 rims and tires.I have alot more white parts not shown in these phots, they are still in the storage case from when I removed them when I was a youngin. We all like pics so here you go.

The 10t before teardown, thats my 10lss next to it

More parts pics.Looks like the 2.3 ghz receiver, rpm bumper, rpm front and rear arms got cut out of the pics.

Deanodized the chassis and the motor mount plus front plate.Started to polish them up.I will do the chassis tonight hopefully, just waiting on the wife to bring home some cold ones.lol Pics do not do the polish any justice, they look alot better in person.

it's good to see that you're not the only one using aramark on their pit table.

Feel free to do the same.I am not the first one thats for sure.lol I used "greased lighning".I bought it from home depot in the cleaning supplies isle.Get the 1 gallon jug of it for $7-8 and just empty some of the greased lightning into a plastic container and aggitate it every 20-30 minutes or so.The lotor mount and front plate will clean up real quick. The chassis will need a few baths most likely.Get the gallon of it, if you get the small bottle you will not have enough. Then step sand and polish. Some use mothers aluminum polish I prefer to use a buffer with compound and different buffs along the way.Hope this helps.

A way of using less is get a can of easy off oven cleaner and a large double lock frezer bag
you can smush it around with you fingers in the bag i did my latest chassis like this and i still have some left in the rattle can.

Cool project.
What body is that?
I'm looking for one for my RC10T and I'm not sure what new AE bodies fit for these.
