It's a long 10tooth brass pinion with one mounting option (plastic mount that bolts right onto the LB/GH/MP/Hornet gearbox). Unless you fab an adjustable motor mount or have the CRP kit that's your only choice.
Here's one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-TAMIYA-LUNCH-BOX-Pinion-Gear-MIDNIGHT-PUMPKIN-TL12-/310278017350?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item483e02d146

There are a few adjustable motor mounts out there that should work. Pick one and scrap the spacer and you can use a couple different size pinions.

i don't remember what size pinion since it's not in my midnight pumpkin at the moment, but i used to run a standard length 15-16 tooth metric pinion without the black plastic motor spacer.

If you run the LB-sized tires, you won't need any larger pinion if you swap out the silver can for a hotter motor. We were running a 27t P2K in the kids' LB and it was too fast. The LB handles like a bowling ball with more power.

Lowgear.... what other adjustable mounts are out there for that gearbox?

scr8p... you likely ran a 18t, which is what mounts in there for the standard 540 position for the GH & Hornet without the LB spacer.

ya, that sounds right. that truck is wicked fast with that pinion and a mild mod motor.

I run a novak SS 5800kv brushless setup with lipos in my lunchbox with the std 10 tooth pinion. The thing is insanely fast on the road, but is overgeared and thermals when running on grass.

I need one of those adjustable mounts I think. Anyone else apart from CRP make them? Couldn't find a CRP one on Ebay with a quick search.

we use to use the CRP Blackfoot mount, it will work. but you should just put a little hotter motor in it. with out the 10t you will lose your wheellys.

I've always wanted to try this Thunder Tech one: http://www.thundertechracing.com/motormnt.htm A bit pricey though.
