RPM trans problems?

Post by THE H.P FREAK »

HI!... In one of my recently obtained part lots I got NIP "RPM" trans cases. So I figured I'd build it with all the parts I got. So I installed a freshly rebuilt diff and Robinson Racing steel idler gear. Now I know this trans is designed for a 2.65 topgear. I don't currently have one so I decided to try the stock 2.25 top gear. It fits but the topgear and idler gear seem to bind and fit really tightly. I'm figuring this is happening due to not running the 2.65 topgear?

The RPM topshaft is the reason that this trans is 2.65 ( it's like a 15t ) the 2.25 stealth ( and all the other ratio's too ) use an 18T topshaft. The RPM gearbox will only work with the right top shaft

But, if it is a grey case then is is a 1.96, and uses a larger topshaft which i think is an 19 or 20-
