No, the 2.65 topshaft is like 16t, the 1.95 is 20t and the stock 2.25 is 18t

It’s the other way around:

2.25 Standard: 20t
1.95. 18t

No, Reggie has it right. The 2.65 trans uses the top shaft with less teeth. The 1.96 top shaft has more teeth.

To be honest I am not that familiar with the rpm gearboxes.

Anyway the standard stealth transmission uses the 20 top gear with the 45t diff.

45 / 20 = 2.25

As stated above.

That is why the 2.65 grenades idler gears with todays modern electronics (less teeth engaged on idler= higher tooth load). A Steel gt idler helps, but then you blow teeth off diff gears if not swapped every race day. This is what i found racing 2wd mod truck fwiw.

The Delrin gears (Thorp) might have been better.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Just a couple thoughts on the topic...

I believe that as a pair of gears rotate, their teeth fall into and out of engagement one tooth at a time.
So, adding teeth to a gear doesn't necessarily result in a stronger gear.
Gears break because increased loads have created bending stresses in excess of what the material and tooth design can resist.
Regarding overall endurance (resistance to wear), increasing tooth count can increase a gear's life since it will make fewer revolutions (fewer engagement cycles of each tooth) for each rotation of the tire.
