The place to go when it doesn't fit anywhere else.

pics added for Sanwa's 1/10 Martini Porsche 936

Post by Mr. ED »

Hi folks,
I've come accross a NIB 1/10 Sanwa model today.

It's a kind of 1/10 pan car with alu chassis and a 380 moter and gear diff on the rear axle. It must be pretty old: it has a battery box for single cells, like the earliest Tamiyas.

The pictures on the box say it came with a proportional radio and shows separate servo's and a proper receiver, so definitely no toy.
A quick look in the box learned me it comes pre-assembled, with a white ABS Porsche body and a large decal sheet, but the electronics must have come in a separate box: no sign of them nor space to hold them either.
Inside the box is an isomo box which closes like a food container. when the shop assitant opened it for me I could smell the rubber of the foam tires, amazing condition after so many years.

I believe the type of body is what you call GT these days, I know it as F2. It's got an open single seat cockpit with rollbar but unlike F1, the wheels are fully covered.

I left it in the shop as I don't want it myself and the thigs that didn't maek it out of japan don't sell well.
But if anyone's interested I don't mind returning there.
Or if you can tell me if there's any demand for this on e-bay?

I know Jay ;)

Have you got some ideas for a trade?
I could use a stealth, or later 3-gear, transmission.
Used but good technical condition is fine.

I'd use it with the composite craft chassis in this link:

Any idea if the holes would line up?

I am sure I could come up with one. That chassis looks like it has holes for both, the 6 gear and the Stealth.

Just go ahead and get the Porsche and will work something out. Feel free to email me, I will PM you my address. Thank you sir! Appreciate it!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_936

This car ran from 1976 on and won Le Mans 3 times in the hands of Jacky Ickx. For those who don't know: he's a belgian too)

If this is a good indication on the age of Mr. Lexan's newest additon to his collection then he's one very vintage car richer.

Don't run this on your grandma's carpet Jay!

PS: they were serious about the "high speed" notion on the box.

There's an extra reduction included in the bags : in case you can't keep that 360 (380?) under control.

The opposite side of the pod is ready to take a 540 for the freaks among us.

Hey Jay, sorry it is taking so long to arrive, I had no idea this guy would take so much time to ship on once he got it into the US.

Ed, have you noticed that there was Jacky Ickx's name on the Martini Porsche displayed on TC? Maybe one of our best ex-Belgian pilots...

sure noticed that, and actually found a miniscule text on one of the stickers saying 1976 also, But no "J. Ickx"

Jay got something real old and I got a nice stealth in the trade, cool!
