TCS for 91 works. Orig/improvised
Well i've been imaging(again), and was wondering if an improvised slipper (Ae) can fit to a 91 yz10,any pics would be of help.what would be the parts needed (other then the orig tcs whch is very expensive).
I saw someone having a hydra drive in a yz10 before ,i think i saw t here can anyone post Some pics coz if a hrydra can be fitted to a yz10 then a b4 double slipper can be incorporated aswell.
Thanks.

A MR4 BX would fit (15t pulley) if you had a custom made layshaft made up.
Edit to add
If you can find someone I have all the parts to send out for measurements etc.

The mr4bx slipper assembly is designed to fit on a smaller lay shaft so it will not fit on the yz 10 slipper lay shaft. I'll post some pics up later of both slippers and the lay shafts.

I think you could either machine a original yoke works slipper lay shaft to allow the fitment of the MR4 BX slipper or have a custom one machined. A custom one would also allow the fitment of non one way unit, that would require two different layshafts, but would be a good tuning option.

If you CAN get a shaft to run a hydradrive, you could make it run the Losi Dual disk slipper and XX4 /XXX spurs. Don't know if that helps, but its an idea.

Re: TCS for 91 works. Orig/improvised
Below is a mock up of an original Yokomo slipper with a dual pad main gear. I have used a bmax gear as an associated gear is slightly too small to fit on the original yokomo shaft. The shaft is not long enough to accommodate the spring, but cone washers could be used instead, similar to the xx4 slipper. I cant test it as the associated slipper gear centre hole would need to be enlarged and I don't have the tools to do that with any degree of accuracy.

Re: TCS for 91 works. Orig/improvised
I managed to ream out the AE dual slipper spur gear so it now fits over the Yokomo shaft. Pictured is the MR4 BX outer slipper plate which uses a pin to hold it on the shaft. In the next week or so I will re-size both the pates from the BX and drill a hole in the shaft, that way I can dispense with the thrust bearing and plate.
The next thing to do will test it on a car.
With some modification, an original Yokomo slipper shaft and MR4 BX slipper plates it should be possible to run AE dual slipper gears on all yokomos from 870c to YZ 10.

Tested it earlier and it works, there is a good range of slipper settings available. Hopefully this week I will complete the modification and use the MR4 BX slipper plates.

You will need to change over to 3mm pitch belts.slow_jun wrote:This is great, any li ks fothe parts for the slipper except the ae parts, i will do the same on my 91,but mine is the 2mm fine pitch, do i need to hange to thr 3mm ?

Re: TCS for 91 works. Orig/improvised
Right I have had a bit of a tinker this afternoon and found the following:
The original yokomo TCS slipper shaft will not accommodate the outer BX pin drive slipper plate as the larger diameter section of the shaft is not long enough to accommodate the hole for the second pin. I don't believe it would be possible to drill out the narrow part without substantially weakening the whole shaft.
The original TCS shaft will accept the MR4 BX inner slipper plate with only slight modification i.e the hole needs to be enlarged by approximately 1mm. The original outer plate from the yokomo TCS can still be used with the thrust bearing assembly when using an associated b4 dual slipper spur.
An original yokomo shaft (one way/solid drive) 870c to 91 cannot be modified to accept a BX slipper assembly as the shafts diameter is around 1.5mm too small.
The best solution would be a custom shaft and a BX inner slipper plate and either a BX/B4 outer plate. Although the set up I have pictured above using the older shaft, MR4BX inner plate and original thrust bearing outer plate works well.
