no, i wondered that, but where the nose brace tubes touch the front of the nose plate there is one tiny chip and underneath it is DEFINATELY a gold pan.
thanks aykbobcat, no, it is in really nice shape, it's just that i want something different for the car i want to build.

i'll do a test today on an old gold noseplate to see if normal paint stripper will hurt the anodizing. and the aluminum, for that matter. i'll let you know later today.
i'm guessing your goal is to re-annodize it, not just re-paint it?

yeah, i want to mirror polish it then get it reanodised either blue or i'm swinging to black at present for a real mean looking car.

Youc could probably get good $$ for that blue chassis....
probably, i'm watching a new black pan and noseplate at present so we'll see what happens. but the blue pan would be nice stripped back to its natural gold because i have a 6010 gold pan that's really nice (except for the pan) that could benefit from it, so i wouldn't sell it anyway. i'm not really a seller at present, i'm just loving buying and building

nice one, thanks for that. i'm gonna do it. maybe not for a few days till i see if i win a new black pan. clenched buttock time watching the price rise .
dont worry i wont seek legal action if it goes wrong scr8p

Cheers for the nice comments..
It is a LOVELY car - very pretty in the way that an RC10 is perhaps not..
As a racer at heart though - racing cars are what I collect, not these pretty, but probably more desirable cars.
Hey everyone, I have a set of kongs on my truck and need advice on what kind of servo I should use. I dont want to spend alot but I do think I need to upgrade. Thanks
Dave

whats a stock servo to you? futaba 3003, yes it's faster then that, a 3003 can't even move the tires when parked.
i had the cpe servo in my 1/8 buggy and it was slow, it was even slower in my clod. it works and it's tough but don't expect too much.
I can see this thread falling into the either in front of my eyes but that's OK. I thought I would start a DSLR thread as I am considering moving from my 35mm EOS to my first digital a 400D. If anyone has an opinion I would be interested, my budget...

Thanks Mel... those are a couple years old now as most of my newer stuff is on CD.... that was all I had on my hard drive. The Maseratis are from the Monterey Historics in 2003. That year was the Ford 100 Year Anv. and Ford was the marquee. Being a...
Alright, just like the Javelin (that I haven't bought yet, but still lust after, and the Avante which is the same situation) I really like the YZ10. It's so mean and hunkered down looking, and I can't stop staring at the shelfer that William has for...

Hi guys and gals , I need people's views on something .
I just found a broken tooth on one of my Ayk Bobcats diff gears , it's just one half broken tooth on one of the plastic sun gears or the gear that is fixed to the out drive .
So I duly tracked...

It's open , it's from 1985 , I don't think sealed diffs existed back then but I'm often wrong  , I can grease it but there's no way of trapping the grease or an oil in place , the gears are exactly the same and mesh well together so I think we...
