the shocks are 1.18 and with 1.02 shafts already. and the clearance is fine with one spacer for each rear shock. but, I still want "more" stroke (wheel travel) which is equivalent to my other runners. so I need to make the tower 2 to 3mm higher than this, then remove the spacers in the rear shocks. it's not for bumps or jumps. but for better handling at the corners. but who knows. it's already looking good and I'm lazy to move my butt for making a new tower. even I'm not a good racer at alllosiXXXman wrote:Hey that's a cool idea on redrilling the stock rear tower. I think he is handcrafting all of them! Very nice project there, I ran a similar set up for quite a long time and ended up replacing everything with stock parts. The trailing arms are for sure different, but I had a hard time setting the rear end and especially the shocks to work properly. The issue with most TA suspension designs is the wheel rate curve as the suspension compresses I think... looking at this one it accelerates (which is fine) and then slows down (which isn't)Asso_man! wrote:I think he is handcrafting all of them!
