Got this neglected B3 and T3 from craigs. I was thinking, these will make some awesome runners. So what was I to do, made a call and drove to get them.
WTF is this?
Cleaned up the B3 and it is ready for assembly. I am planning on rebuilding the tranny and add new BB all around. I am also adding blue Asso shocks, new wheels and rubber, new original turnbuckles and I am not sure about the rest yet, we will see...
Cool, more B3 love on this vintage buggy section. I have commented to others but I really like how this guy is built. Something about the way the trapezoid front chassis plate comes together over the bell cranks and rear chassis plate and trans brace integration. It's nicely executed.
I have enough spare parts hoarded to probably build 2 or 3 more of them if I had to.
As usual you made it too nice to run. I love the B3. Plentiful, cheap and as solid of a 2wd buggy as you'll ever run. The rear shock tower(or strut as they're officially called, not sure what the diference is )can be a bit weak. Of course, maybe that's only if you crash it. Looks great!

thanks.
It looks good but I think it can be run, I agree on the rear tower, this is the only part I had to change a couple of times on my original B3 after flipping on the big jump the first couple of times I ran the local track.
Thanks for the comments; this was my last paint schema when I converted my B2 to a B3 and stop racing. I was using green instead of yellow before but I think I ran out of green that night . So this was my last actual race car and then i move to Dallas and stop racing. I will be back racing some tome soon, I need it but it will be with a more vintage RC10.
Not sure if I will get to run this one, It may end up on the B/S/T thread soon, but I am not sure yet.
You can buy my design rear shock tower from fibre lyte but youll need to use a shell that you can cut the rear gearbox cover away as i designed it with the schumacher wing mount as the standard item keeps coming off.
Ive also put losi mip axles (1042) on and bought more spacers as this lengthens mip ujs and stops them popping out plus you can now have droop.
Does anyone know why the spur gear picture with WTF is done like and was it built any different from the standard set up.
The WTF photo of the spur :
The previous owner was a a drag and pull guy, he had some very coll pull trucks in his collection so I believe he installed the diff this way to lock the spur and get no slip.
who needs slippers anyway... it's all in the throttle finger
