Quick question. With all the resources displayed in other posts (people with connections to machine shops, paint shops, having AutoCAD skills or just plain mad skillz lol etc. etc.) has anyone proposed that this board collectively consider designing a new RC10?? a totally revamped, our version of the classic 2WD version? (perhaps a double deck graphite with alloy towers etc. etc.) or even a new 4WD one? not that I would be biased for a 4WD design
I come for the RC10's but stay for the Yokomo's
Current projects:
1993 WCS Faux-komo
1994 Yokomo Box-Art
RC10GT Restoration
Ya i'm all for redesigning the 10 too. Maybe we call it the "RC10-2" (10 too... get it!). I'm all over the hottie contest. Maybe we should consider handicapping it for those of us who don't have the "resources" that Asa does! LOL.

Man I love the idea !!!! Making it even better then what it is right now !
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it!!
we could also make a list of participants, toss a coin to decide who brings which part and then collect the parts somewhere and build it. Pics would be uploaded and then it would go to the elected guy from the "Hottie and Funny Picture Contest", well let's call it the HFPC winner lol

Dude let's TOTALLY do this. When we finish it I can get it covered in one of the mags too how cool would that be. Count me in for doing a part. I think we should for a comittee to over see and distribute the project.

What if everyone who wanted to contribute posted pics of what they wanted to contribute and let the "...committee..." Erich referred to do the part selection?

We tried something like this in the local woodworking group and it didn't work too well. Every tape measure measures differently. That's ok when you're building something that doesn't require tight tolerances, but when you start building something that's a bit more intricate and demands accuracy, you can't use 35 different tape measures. Then there is equipment quality (again with the tolerances ), and user ability and attention to detail.
Most of these issues I would assume would be bypassed because everyone would be duplicating stock parts, right?

Toaster suggested doing a revamp but I like the idea of people creating custom parts that will bolt on to an original 10. That would be the easier way of making this happen. Like you said, every tape measure measures differently.
But I like the revamp idea. I just think it would be a bit difficult unless all mounting point are to stay the same. But that would kill the whole revamp thing.

I agree, aftermarket parts would be easier and more likely to succeed. One option that I can think of is that if 90% of the parts were aftermarket bolt on and 10% were one-off customs, that the people doing the one-offs would work together to design and build their parts. For instance, the front of the chassis is changed slightly for improved a-arms and geometry. The guy making the pan and the guy doing the front suspension work together to make the parts fit. The rest is "stock" so that aftermarket bolt-ons will do the job.

Ok I know it is rc10 based with stealth tranny and a set of mip axles. I know it has new tires and wheels and a lexan body and for the smart asses yest I know its a toy rc car. lol
So the question is what chassis is this and what all info maybe...

Hello,
Although I am new to this forum I have been building, racing and collecting Associated RC cars for the past 20+ years. I've recently had a 5 year break from the collecting side of things due mainly to concentrating on racing. Now that I've...
I've never had a Pan Car but I'm sort of curious and after a little advice from a few of you guys in my Pan curious thread I settled on some (forgotten to me ) middle ground in the form of the Bolink Digger , the Digger was basically a 1/10 Pan car...

I found reasons for some of the rear traction/stability issues , firstly the rear pod bulkheads had cracked around the bearing seats for the rear axle leaving the axle unstable , also the grommets used for the lateral pivot of the rear pod were not...
This is my black TRX-1 project that I'm working on. This has been made mostly from available black TRX-1 parts. I used associated battery cups and TRX-3 front arms. I have a new motor plate that I'm thinking about removing the blue anodizing and...

It is great to see the work you have been doing on your elusive TRX-1. Are you still working on a white version of the TRX-1? Still looking for parts? I've been keeping an eye out for you, but no luck so far. I've seen your postings on RCTech. Good...
I was bored and decided to dig out one of two unrestored RC10's that I would eventually get to (the worst one). I didn't really want to spend any money on this project as I'd rather finish off a few stadium trucks of mine. I knew I had enough parts...

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with it. It looked like it should have been in the bin when I started but now it will be put on my shelf next to the others. Not much left to do to it other then maybe replace one of the battery cups and find a small...
Some of the Parma body molds are now being pulled by Mid America, a slot car shop. I have seen posts of people asking for specific bodies such as the tmaxx dump truck and I requested the grasshopper body- both were added to the website and I'm just...
