Thanks alot James, appreciate the comments!! Would be good to catch up mate, been a very long time.
I just managed to get some shocks on the front end that are perfect. NIP original Associated hard bodies.......I figured - "what the hay" - you only live once, may as well make the car as good as I possibly can for running. I kind of dont really like the idea of putting modern threaded body shocks on the car, I will in a pinch - but if I can come close to perod correctness, I will always try.
Will pop up some more pictures soon - getting cracking on the rear end and laying out the radio. This will be running Li-Po - so I have to adapt something to keep them in. Really looking forward to running this car.
Cheers
Darryn

Hi guys,
Well - the Vintage festival has been and gone(http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=22066) .
Unfortunately I did not get to race this car against others - however I did get to practice with it and it was EXTREMELY good to drive. Brought back so many memories.
I went with a simple, but effective "period" type paint job with a Mr Lexan re-production shell. I will take detail pics of the chassis and radio etc for you guys if interested - and a few more body shots in the sunlight so you can see the detail.
For now - he is what my doggy has been transformed into:

Cheers - and thanks for looking. Any comments welcomed.

That looks fantastic, I love the McLaren paint! What springs, pistons and oil did you end up using?
I'm looking forward to running mine. If only that lazy bum, hozer, Anthony (Vintage AE) would put down his beer and take a few minutes to put mine together!

I actually cleaned the magnesium the hard way - with a rag and some Autosol!! Came out pretty well - used the Autosol with a toothbrush on the hard to get areas.
Looking at the car on the shelf now, it is definately a car I will be running hard next year at the vintage festival.
If interested - I will take some pics of the internal layout and other finer details.
Cheers

That body looks sweet, I was tossing up btw a box art or masami theme for mine but after seeing this I may go for something similar, Love it.
