I'm looking for a 410 MXc, Erich is looking for a 410 M1 or M1c... sorry to say "Novak 410" leaves a lot wide open... there are always a few 410 M5's on ebay, those were a budget ESC. We're looking for the "top of the line back in the day" versions from 1991...

The 410 HPc's are good, but they're more a 1992/1994 era ESC... great for a Team Car, World's Car, or Team Truck.

Thanks for keeping an eye out! :D

I would love to have a 610 RV. If you run into one of those cheap, I would like a shout out. By cheap I mean "hey buddy, you want this..". I'm kidding. I would like to find one for $40 or less but that will most likely never happen. They fetch a pretty good price. I don't know why, they were not very durable. I got snow on mine and it smoked for a while then lost reverse

And my Novak search includes an 828HV. It was the 8 to 28-cell drag/boat ESC from the late 80s. I've had a couple of NOS ones in my sight recently, and flaked out when it came time to fire.

I have an old Futaba ESC from around 91 I think it is an mc118 or something like that, anyway it was in a Panda stadium truck in a shed, we had a flood and it was submerged in two feet of water. It sat for two years and on a whim I check it out, low and behold it worked. It works pretty good but when it gets hot it gets glitchy. Now thats a peice of work. It just sits in a 10T that I put up, its just for looks now.

If you don't power up electrics when they get wet, sometimes you just end up with clean electrics. But when you pump 8.4 volts to a 12 turn in the snow and a snowball rolls through your home-made air duct and takes up residency on top of your esc, things tend to get real smoky real quick

When is Novak or one of the other electronics producers going to come out with a magic smoke calibration unit so that we can put the smoke back in where it belongs?

i've never seen magic smoke...

on my hustler 2.2 build, i even went as far as hooking up the battery wrong to the esc, which in turn melted the positive wire off the board and got things pretty hot...

i thought for sure i ruined it, but after i soldered the wire back on it worked.

That's awesome :D :D . We were always being reminded in class that Computer components were fragile and you couldn't touch the boards and surface mounts or drop anything. Shoot, I could not tell you how many times I drug something across a motherboard or dropped a hard drive. Yeah I agree it can be damaged and those things are not good for it. But that stuff is much tougher than I was lead to believe.
