cheap, high efficiency BL mabuchi can replacements?

Post by proffesso »

hey guys, decided, thanks to a few members here to make all my cars runners (runners, not bashers ;))

what BL motors are recommended? I just want run times for my old stuff with extended run times - ie, mabuchi / johnson replacements. not looking to spend a lot (will need BL esc's too)

cheers,

ezrun 35A + 3000kv mill is the way to go for cruising around - 4300kv is hairier and perfect for quality vintage racers 8)

if you don't go crazy with timing, the 3000kv is pretty darn close to a sport tuned I'd say :) all depends on what shape your cars' trannies are in of course!

BL are impressive all around. The main thing to be careful of is the torque, especially in the 4-pole motors. I bet this is what kills most transmissions rather than the RPM. Most controllers have some sort of start or punch control. Just set it to start easy and work up from there.
