The price is ridiculous. For the money they want it doesn't seem worth it. I didn't realize the price until a little bit ago. For the money I'd rather have a losi 5-t

Another pointless Traxxass product. Seriously, what could possibly be their target market? 100mph road rocket that's way too dangerous and costly for the average user and ridiculous for 'experts' who have no facilities to use it professionally.

My thoughts exactly Juice! HI man! I finally joined RC10Talk, took long enough huh?

The new car is cool, but seriously? Oh well, whatever works for them.

I am sure they will read the boards, maybe put some thought into 1/8th or 1/5th brushless car and truck for the future.

A trail rig would do them good. The 5ive-T is a serious consideration now.

What's funny is that traxxas is at it again rehashing "breakthrough" stuff when in reality it's just doing what every speed-crazy basher has done for a couple years now... Take an 8th scale electric offroader (whether native electric or conversion), put an "onroad" shell on, onroad tires, drop a high-KV chinese BL in, high-amp controller, el-cheapo 3S pack, et voila, you will hit 100mph no problem... for much cheaper than a grand!!!

Another thing... it hits 0-100mph in 5s... very crude maths lead me to about 134m needed to reach top speed... that's about 450 feet. A LOT of space... have you tried seeing, let even controlling an RC car from 450 ft?

That's a weapon here. As said, the "experts" won't buy this and this will end up in the wrong hands. In sue-happy USA I'd be worried if I were Traxxas, really.

This is an awesome car with cutting edge technology, the problem is, it is not very practical for the average RC consumer. Unless you have Texas Motor Speedway near you (which Traxxas does) where will you ever be able to unleash this thing at 100mph?

I am still waiting for the E-Jato or a new 2wd 1/10 scale buggy to come out. Unfortunately, I don’t see this happening in the near future.

No doubt juice.

I have read the threads here for almost as long as I have been a member over at ClodTalk.

I joined to be able to say Hi, share some thoughts, get some feedback for my growing collection of Losi vehicles from days gone by.

I didn't even think of a new 2WD buggy or truck from Traxxas, that would be ok. Sticking with the thought of a new trail runner or a 5th scale gasser/electric.

That could be the next move for them. The 5ive-T took me by surprise.

that's my point - they make a big fuss out of it but it's not cutting efge tech...

it's a shaft-driven 4wd car, with an elastic link in the drive chain (as opposed to a proper slipper... which the people who'll likely buy this wouldnt be able to set up) like the older 5th scale cars used to have, a castle MME , a Neu mill, and a 2.4GHz radio with Telemetry... All this has been widely available for a while now.

And that docking thing for an iphone is the most useless thing I have EVER seen in RC, as it allows traxxas to not have to pay for a digital screen on their low-end radio, but leverages YOUR own smartphone... so not only is this thing more than one grand, but it still requires an iphone to make it work...

Where's the company that used to do a 2wd that could run with the big boys BITD?

dont forget that when its all said and done its just an lcg slash 4x4 too.

what i dont get is that traxxas knows what the market wants but instead creates this just to have a feather in their cap.

Here's my take on the car. I think it's really cool looking. I think the performance is incredible. I never thought I'd see the day when you could buy, albeit for a lot of money, an r/c car that was capable of hitting 100 mph. However saying that, I agree with everyone else. Why do you need to? Where are you going to drive it? We all know good and well some punk is going to buy this thing (or have his parents buy it for him), drive it down his subdivision street at full speed and then crash it into a parked car, curb, kid on a bicycle, person walking, etc and do some serious damage not only to the car but also to property and potentially seriously injuring or killing someone. If any of you have ever been hit in the ankle by a lightweight 1/10 car going 25 mph, imagine what it would be like to get hit by an 8 lb missile going over 100 mph. Say goodbye to your leg!

At those speeds there really isn't much you can do other that go back and forth in a straight line which I personally find only slightly less boring that running in a giant circle. Incidentally that's pretty much your other option if you intend to use all that speed. Find a large banked velodrome, sneak in and run it. That car would be much better if offered and advertised with either a 2S or 3S battery. A 6S is ridiculous. If people want to go that insanely fast, let them do it themselves. A large part of the fun of rc for me is trying things on my own. I'm a tinkerer. The journey is as much fun as the destination.

No kidding, I want to see how this gets used. Maybe the sales of it will be so small, they will discontinue it right away.

I like the idea of using a velodrome, I mentioned that. Much smaller than a large left turn only style track. If you like spinning in circles for 30 minutes at a time.

Would be great fun to try for awhile, but thats about it I think. Maybe a racing league will be started and it will come down to straight away speed and handling/tuning.

Let alone trying to see and drive it at those speeds.
