I've got a vintage project that I don't want to use up a Novak receiver in, but don't want to compromise the build with a wrong year receiver. I know early 90's but I need to be very specific, and the closer the 1988 the Happier I'll be.
I enjoy, Schumacher 1/12th, Checkpoint motors, Lazerlite motors, PB Sizzler, Pro Panther-10, Dialed Speed Controls, Paranoia spurs.
I am just curious as to what year this servo was first released? It was recommend as the servo to use to restore an old buggy from the 80s with period correct electronics, but I see that you can still buy this servo brand new today?... same servo?...

My WOIN / Pinky car will use that same servo and Magnum JR radio...They work so why not :) I'm just trying to find a plug and play modern ESC to go with them...
On this reciever, Ive still got like 3 feet worth of antenna. Does this excess length help me or can I cut it down. If its worth keeping, any suggestions on how to wrap it to boost reception.

I think I need to replace the connector on the esc that plugs into the receiver. It looks like one of the contacts gets pushed up when I try to plug it in. so power is only getting a one directional flow now
Seams to me digital has great and (what I did not expect) drawbacks. I bought the Flysky FS GT3B 2.4GHz 3-channel transmitter, FS GR3C 2.4GHz 3-channel receiver. I have not gotten her in the mail yet, and already went shopping for a digital...

I've used digital servos for ages without any programming box ;)
I have yet to understand what a digital programming box adds on top of all the bells and whistles built in most modern radios (out of which most of us only use EPA's and expo anyway)...
As above. Why is there not a single receiver / Esc unit on the market? Is there some technological hindrance to having such a single unit combination. Rf interference? IDK. :?:

Tamiya was the last hobby-grade company I recall doing CPR units, which was their combined ESC and receiver. They were still selling them in XB TT01 cars a few years ago, but that model no longer seems to be on their website.
I recently aquired a lot of rc's but no transmitter. All the recievers are Spektrum and a Losi. There is a SLT3 transmitter for sale here locally on Facebook. I searched the interwebs and everything I found says the SLR300 reciever is compadable...

Thanks for the good advice. I remember when just going 2.4 was mindblowing when you realized the signals went to a satellite.
Okay so I just purchased a Castle SV2 sidewinder and 4 pole 4600KV motor, will be getting a new 2.4 radio, lipo and charger in the near future. Any recomendations on what pinion gear to use? I believe it came with an 81t spur, should I be changing...
