cheap spektrum recievers

Post by mikedealer »

does anyone know if this reciever will work with regular spektrum systems

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0806

seems kinda a ripoff at that price for $74.99 but cheaper than the normal spektrum reciever.
the losi transmitter is $62.99

whats messed up is both of those come with the RTR desert truck that costs $229.00

So $138 for electronics (not including motor or ESC or digital servo), and the car costs $230.00 new

hell its cheaper to buy this truck for the "decent" electronics and junk the car or sell it on ebay. the EC doesnt look terrible for a runner

They do work from what I've been told. They were actually priced around $45 initially until it was discovered by the masses that they were able to bind them with a regular Spektrum system. Then up up up up the price went...

the original msrp on those is still printed in the mini-slider manual, the $45 street price did not last long. horizon does have one land rx that is cheaper but it is not in stock yet. This is the new "sport" rx: only $70
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SPMSR300

A mini-slider is 180, but the tx and rx separately sell for $130 :?:
the whole spektrum pricing scheme is a scam for the land users. the basic air receivers are half the price, smaller, and have double the channels. too bad they can't be bound to the land tx.
