'89 Australian Worlds Video
No idea if it's been posted before, sorry if that's the case
Awesome old-skool vid, probably part of a local cable program bitd! Highlights:
- Onboard Camera in what looks like Dunn's Pro Radiant - Can't spot the rocking front tower or not...
- Eustace Moore and the Legend
- A yokomo... that's some light oil in there...
- And some wild looking, indian-painted "frustrated" driver

Enjoy and thanks to Patriiick for the link - de l'or en barre!!!
Paul
now with link - thanks Jirka

Re: '89 Australian Worlds Video
To me Dunn's Pro Radiant seemed to be with non rocking front tower. You will see it acting when You see one. Eustace is a real good ambassador. I think that Yokomo (the one in the pits with blue and white wing) is not Masami's.
This is über cool video (to me), really nice to see action from the 80's!

EDIT: A few videos more from 1989 worlds:

Re: '89 Australian Worlds Video
Hi Paul,
I was one of the lucky few from this board that was fortunate enough to go to this event back in 1989 as a spectator. It was possibly the biggest hi-light of my racing experience back then as my home track of B.O.R.M.A.C was within driving distance of St Ives and being able to see the worlds first hand was really something else.
I remember turning up to the grounds and there was a serious shortage of parking. There were soo many people there. I also remember a sweet red Ferrari parked right up close to the track which had me wondering perhaps one of the team managers might have leased it for his time in Australia? (only speculating)
It wasn't easy to get a premium view of the track as the crowd was think in most places (it was the last day) and I had to sneak amongst other people to catch a glimpse of the action.
Ofcourse back in 89 I was just a teen and the big thrill was being allowed into the pits amongst the racing teams and drivers. I was lucky enough to be allowed to see some of the team secrets up close and given a heap of freebies from the different teams (mainly sponsor decals, wheels and tyres). I came a away with a pile of stuff for nix. The Yokomo guys really buffed me out
The venue was awesome and the track was left almost the same for many many years. It was only a couple of years ago that the track itself underwent major changes to suit modern day racing.
Still the St Ives grounds are a majic place and the club is still going strong today. Thomas (aka - Bugle) and Darryn (aka- Retro R/C) are both members of the club at the minute.

Cool video from a great race that I was lucky to see as a spectator. Masami was just unbeatable! I really need to have my old Hi8 video footage converted to digital so I can share it with everyone. Another project :0
