Hi guys,
I am really really pissed off today as I sent some money by mail (how stupid I am, I know) to RPM for some parts. I had exchanged a ton of emails with the "RPM answer man" about old cars, molds... The letter arrived today, but the money was gone... I can't blame no one but myself and I am now only left with my eyes to cry To cool things down, I decided to build a NIB (though already opened) CE edition that has been waiting in the box for months now. What a pleasure to build a new RC10, it really took me back more than 15 years ago when I bought my first RC10 Team Car. I will try to build it as box-art as I can (behalf the body since it came without it and ain't got no Protech II). The only thing I changed on it are the stock green springs which I changed for some gold ones I had left, simply because they look a lot sexier on the gold tub. I plan to install the stock wiper resistor later on today, so stay tuned

Man, I need some of those step pin rears for my black & gold CE...
You're always correct dude, amazing! Fronts are indeed 6873 and rear are 6823.
I also think the kit has been used for parts by a hobby shop and then probably refilled with missing (though incorrect) parts Front tires should be 6872, rear 6822 and indeed plastic shock caps (but not sure on these).
Thanks for the kind comments guys

My 6014 CE "Rooster" suffered the same fate...but they never replaced the missing parts... I have replaced everything missing except the tires... 6823 and 6873... on my Christmas wish list...
great c.e., david. those 6011 kits always take me back to my younger days working at the lhs. i can't even tell you how many of those kits i built there. i think that's why i like mine so much.
Thanks guys, this is also bringing back memories to me, and I suddenly feel very old and too grown-up
As for the black shock caps, I used them on my "Ultimate MIP graphite build" project and replaced those with plastic ones in order not to be bothered by the "period" police anymore

A new built Tomahawk late edition, equipped with Sand Super tires arrived to my doorstep today, and I didn’t have to spend a fortune either to acquire it. This will most likely be a shelf queen, but you newer know…

Your welcome Lars! Jason, the cheque is in the mail ;)
I picked up a very nice condition stealth CE car to begin my second Runner build. This one is inspired heavily by the cars of Ruffy, JHarris and Eau Rouge.
First things first, my hats off too Bigjeepzz, he does FANTASTIC machine work. I am humbled...

Take the short nut off the 8/32 main screws, pull the bellcranks out and then remove the plastic nut/bearing sleeve. Put the bellcranks over the 8/32 screws then install the nut/sleevecombo piece upside down, so that the part that acted as a...

I confirm for the plastic caps.
One of the kits I have factory sealed that I decided to build and try to re-live my first memories of my first B3 :). I have not yet found the build pictures but here is a couple of it completed. I will update this thread once I locate the build...

Wow, good score on that B3!
I love the B3 and building this one brought back some good memories for me :).
I got a new to me car recently and it's all clean and polished and right off would look good on the shelf , however on close inspection two of the three diffs are screwed and the whole steering system would drop apart the moment it started moving ....

Most of my builds are shelfers. All of my cars could technically be run but sometimes they’re not set up to run well. For example, I just built an RC10 with vintage Proline “hard” 2.2 rear tires. I bought some current Schumacher spike front tires...
Just received some White J Concepts Rulux wheels but they appear to be more of a pale blue grey colour is this normal. The other wheel is a JCRacing white for comparison

You don't *need to do anything to run the front B4 wheels, although the offset is more inboard than the old 2.0/2.1 wheels. If that bothers you, you can run GT front axles which are wider and correct the offset.
I'm sure this has been discussed before. What's the best way to get your old white plastic parts looking new again or at least better? I was thinking about a 90% water 10% bleach soak. Is this a bad idea? Also will putting the parts in semi boiling...

Thanks for the info on Super Clean. I went looking for some today, didn't find it. So I was going to get some Simple Green instead when I passed by the Soft Scrub products and found this....
