Trying To Get The Old RC10 Going
I just decided to dig my old RC10 out of storage in the basement and try to get it going again. I had a blast racing this thing when I was a kid, and I am hoping to get this going and have some fun with it with my kids. I have a couple of questions though that I was hoping somebody could help me with. My questions are:
- Are there any tires that are currently sold that will fit on this? I don't want to run down the original tires, and currently it has on old Schumacher Cat tires that are wearing down very quickly when I run it on concrete. So I would like to get something that looks decent, will hold up on concrete, but still be decent on a dirt track. However I am not sure where I can get any tires that will fit on it.
- Any ideas on what area of RC10 this is. From what I have read I am thinking that it is a Edinger. I am basing this on the front tires that came with it, and on the fact that the shock towers seem to be milled and not pressed. Does this seem correct.
- It has a decent amount of scratches on the bottom of it, and some of the parts are no longer stock. So based on this I am guessing that this is not going to be a collector, so I should just run it and enjoy it with my kids. Does this seem correct?

I'm not sure if JC Racing Products are still selling the wheels or not, but you could check with them.
Look for RC10 5 spoke wheels under the 1/10 off road vehicles product section. You can run today's assortment of modern tires that way.

Here, take a look at this thread and probably all your questions will be answered. I looked at oem tire options and they can be had in the tamiya world. But honestly it's easier to just get the JC racing whelks and go modern.

Thank you for the replies. I did do a lot of searching before I posted, but for some reason could not figure out the tires. I just ordered the wheels from JC Racing, and am beginning the search for tires.
