Sunday's ProJect.

Post by sk7 »

Had a quiet day at home , I was thinking about putting something together came up with this. Old gold pan chassis I had sandblasted and painted a while ago, also polished the noise plate. Then i had a mixture old black and white parts that I fitted to the car, it's a start. Also started a jrx project .

It's not metallic, its a green base coat with three light coats of yellowish pearl then clear coat.

So if I understand the glossy finish came with the pearl coating? I was thinking about sanblasting a chassis but I thought it would leave the metal kinda rough. Did you sand it or something before painting?

The glossy coating came with the clear coat, if you sandblast it , then a quick scuff with the 3m abrasive pad then your ready for epoxy or a etch primer ,before paint of course.
if your going to leave it sandblasted you might be better off using oven cleaner to remove the gold coating, because then you won't have a pitted look to the alum.
