MIP 4WD kit rareity
I read here on the list that the mip 4wd kits are not rare. I beg to differ seeing as though I have only seen a handfull of them. So my question is to find put how many here have them. So if you have one or know of one then sound off. I will start
1 first generation cable drive qty 1
2 second generation kit with belt drive qty 2
1 first generation cable drive qty 1
2 second generation kit with belt drive qty 2

Re: MIP 4WD kit rareity
I don't believe the 4-10 Legend kits are as rare as some make them out to be. The cable and early kits maybe, but not the last gen kit. Granted, MIP probably didn't make millions of them, but I bet they made more than a few hundred. And we can't go by only the number of owners on RC10Talk because there's people outside of this site that own MIP kits.
I can think of several conversion kits that I would consider more rare than the Legend kit:
- Advance Engineering mid-motor conversion
- Hot Trick direct-drive sprint conversion
- Real Racing tuber
- Any of the Team Pit Stop Nova kits
- HyperDrive on-road/oval conversion
- JCAR on-road/oval conversion that used RC12L front end parts
- Even the AGI Jammer on-road/oval conversion.
How many of these kits have we seen compared to the Legend kits? A lot less.

Re: MIP 4WD kit rareity
I had 3 cable drive kits but sold them 2 years ago. Ones in Germany (rauskuman), one got mounted on a sand scorcher and sold on ebay not long ago and the other I parted out.

Re: MIP 4WD kit rareity
I agree I have seen a decent amount of the 4-10 kits I dont think Mip really supported them with replacment parts and that is what makes them so rare to find complete.LTO_Dave wrote:I don't believe the 4-10 Legend kits are as rare as some make them out to be. Re: MIP 4WD kit rareity
Didn't MIP make a chain drive 4x4 conversion kit for the gold pan RC-10? I recall seeing one at Walt's Hobby (old store) and thinking as a little kid that the conversion kit cost as much as my RC-10.
