RC10 Veedub
been missing my rc10 beetle after going back the standard chassis length & RC10 body so I thought that it was time to have another go at making an RC10 vw.
This time I didn't shorten the chassis, so I had to try really hard to get the proportions right, so I cut the body down as much as possible & lowered as far as I could onto the standard RC10 chassis. It's a fine line to get the proportions right but I think from most angles it looks OK.?
I think 2 main reasons the last rc10 vw I had wasn't the best to drive on the track was because of the shortened wheelbase & the body sat quite high which upset the handling. I havn't had the chance to drive this on the track yet so fingers crossed it still drives like it did with the standard rc10 body. The beauty of this setup is that I can change back to the standard rc10 body in less than 30 seconds as all the standard RC10 body mounts are still in place.
The paint job was another "go to the cupboard & see what colours I had" affair, to be quite honest it's the first paint job that I have done for some time that really like. The pictures unfortunantly don't show all the metallic flake pearl, in direct sunlight it's stunning.
I also have proper LED lights for it this time as we have a vintage meet coming up in Sydney at the end of the year that will be under lights! can't wait.

Heres how it looked before with the shortened chassis http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=15909

That's awesome! Can you tell us more about how you mounted the body?

Nice! I think you nailed the body proportions! The paint is great too! Let us know how she handles.
