Futaba serial numbers and FCC I.D.s

Post by THEYTOOKMYTHUMB »

I received a “very good” condition Magnum Jr. today just to have around. The one I have is the one I owned back in the day. It shows the many battle scars of heads up balls out racing. Drops, throws, Mello Yello and Cheetos. Electrical tape here, piano wire there… traces of tarmac from drops of disbelief - and bits of drywall from throws of disgust. I, a young maverick that spent as much time holding his radio as he did his penis; well almost as much. Basically not pretty and I wanted a pretty one for the shelf.

Anyhoooo… I never really noticed the serial numbers or FCC I.D. on these radios. Is there any way these can be used to track the manufacturing date of a particular radio? I don’t care, but I’m just curious. Did each unit have it’s own FCC I.D.? I would think to be given an ID it would have to be registered in some way. Some tucked away government document. X files style. Curious minds want to know.

Yes, and you are being tracked. They also know as a child you spent too much time staring at your Farrah Fawcett poster.

I think the IDs were specific to groups of electronics. I will check a couple old TXs and see.

I think you're right on both accounts. I'll have to compare the one I'm holding with my old one...

Yeah, I like to slip that in whenever possible.

OK, now read that back to me...

Nope, no double entendres in either of my statements so we're good to go. :D

Never heard of anyone looking for a pretty penis before.... but if you do want one for the shelf, best to get married.

Saturday afternoon here. If I could get some of the scores from Saturday night's college football games that would be great though. I'll cut you in for 30%.
