I have been following the site long enough so I figured I would start posting too. I got this car recently on ebay and the guy said it was in "exellent" condition. When I finally recieved the car after several weeks. I was a little disappointed. He had all of the scratches covered with black marker and the front nose plate and tubes were bent. The rear shock tower is also pretty chewed up. I just thought excellent meant that it would be almost perfect. Any way, I will attempt to post some pics.

No I didnt. Ebay is a crap shoot sometimes. I have bought a few really cheap cars that turned out to be really nice and some like this one. The good news is that the chassis is still good.
I have made a little progress. The main parts of the car are in better shape than I thought and cleaned up pretty well. I stripped the entire car down and am soaking the white parts in peroxide. I had a few parts from another project that were already cleaned up. I had a straight nose plate that cut down Worlds style and a perfect motor mount. I also had a Losi Hydra drive and and RPM gear cover that I put on there. I have a set of of titanium turn buckles that I plan on using too.
It was about 200. Thats why I was disappointed when it wasnt in "excellent condition" as advertised. I got carried away bidding on it because I have always wanted a worlds car and I anticipated cleaning it up no matter what but this car needed way more than that. Oh well, I finally have one and I will try to make a nice of a car as I can.
Wow that turned out really nice - looks like you've been busy!
I'm always amazed how these old RC10s can be turned around into a thing of real beauty from what initially seems like a rough base, I think its testiment to the durabilty of them & the material used that most parts can be sprayed/dyed/trimmed or polished to look like new again!
My Worlds was in much worse a shape than yours as it appears in the first set of your photos - which is why I was hopefull that you could make this into something really special. In my opinion your $200 wasn't too badly spent... but yeah I wouldn't have described it as 'excellent condition' if the nose plate & tubes were obviously bent!

Thanks! I think it will turn out pretty nice. I am glad to know that I did not overpay to much. Its going to be a fun project and I look forward to gathering more knowledge from this site and members.
Keep chipping away.
Would the RCPS turn buckles be more period correct than the Tenecraft (correct me if I am wrong) turn buckles that I have on there? I have the black wheels for mock up. I may keep them but I want to find the correct front tires.
