Kent Clausen RC10L Tide Build
I picked up an RC10L and am planning on getting it looking like Kent's 10L as seen in the 'Breaking The Speed Limit' Associated ad.
Always loved that ad and the car.
The 10L I scored is a tad beat looking, but I'm not too worried,I really just wanted one to hang that cool Lumina body done in Tide livery and some BBS style rims.
Has anyone done a build like this, before?
I found a Tide decal sheet,but it's 1/12th scale.
Any word on the availability of those Lumina bodies,BBS style rims (I'd love some of those old rubber capped tires for it!) and 1/10th scale Tide decals?
A crappy snapshot of the cover of January 1991 cover of RCCA showing the car..and the man.
Can anyone shed any light on this 10L I scored?
Looks like a pretty early one,to me,I should have it here by the weekend, hopefully.
Thanks in advance for any help!

No,definitely a 10L.
It's the car he hit 70 MP/H at the Thunderdrome cycle track.

Yes Kent's car is a 10L but the car in pieces in your 1st photo looks like a 12i.

Dang, took a photo of the wrong cover! OOPS!
I'm all left feet and thumbs,tonight...
Anyone got a scan of the RCCA ad with Kent and the CHP officer?
I have it in an RCCA,but my scanner is broke.

Right car,right?
That whole event was 1/10th scale.
Hope I can score the parts I need to make a replica.

Re: Kent Clausen RC10L Tide Build
I'm commenting on the car you scored not the article about KC's RC10L. It's not a 10L it looks more like a 12i. RC10L's had a seperate rear pod.

Re: Kent Clausen RC10L Tide Build
As a reference here is a thread of gomachv's RC10L chassis. The chassis originally came in fiberglass but looked exactly like this one. The one in your picture is totally different.

Re: Kent Clausen RC10L Tide Build
Oh,really?
Dang.
Didn't look at it real hard and the ad said 'RC10L'.Bummer.
eBay here I come. There's a nice Graphite 10L on there right now that will make a good donor car.
Or if someone wants to trade a 10L for a 12L?
Found that awesome ad...

Re: Kent Clausen RC10L Tide Build
Hmmm...There is a set of 1/12th Tide decals available.
A Lumina body's going to be tough.
Those 1/12th tires will come in handy for my Bolink/ART Agitator XII,at least.
