X2 on the Marwan Repro OT-30's, they're the one's on my runner Optima and I'm pretty happy with them. I've only run them once though so I can't comment on how long they'll last, depends on the driving surface. I haven't tried the other one's made in Spain(?) yet.

Any chance you'll do a thread of your Optima Project?

I appreciate the information, sirs. I'll probably order a set from marwanrc then.

I've been taking some pictures along the way, so I could make a thread. I just figured my stuff was boring. Seems like everyone has such interesting projects/stories/resto's around here :) . I'll give it a shot, though.

OK, continuing on with Optima Pro-ject, I took the rear gearbox apart to see how it looked inside.

Not surprisingly it was a bit grubby, a bonus is the hardened final pinion gear.

Rear diff.

The right side housing has a gouge in it so I've got another pair of housings on the way, and yes they are the correct housings for the belt drive conversion.

Rear diff apart, not that you can see much but all the gears look good enough to re-use.

Radio plate for the Pro conversion and alloy bumper brace.

I also took the front one-way diff apart, more out of curiosity than anything. This cartrige has a one-way bearing on either side.

All 4 axle carriers will be replaced with new one's for obvious reasons.

Along with the belt drive gearbox housings I've also ordered a pair of chassis rails.

That's all for now.
