I won't be dissapointed if they don't release everthing again but it would be cool to see a worlds car and some new 2.2 wheels for racing that are nice and durable and a plentiful supply of 25deg castor blocks!

it will be really nice to see clean, new unmolested gold pans, hopefully in a light shade of gold rather than the cruddy deep orange and a good price. Getting some nice new knobby rear tires will be so cool without spending a fortune. I think those two things are what I am most looking forward to.

ruona kind of shares my thoughts (of what i would like to see happen) when it comes to this car at 1:07:16.atarit3 wrote:RIP podcast;

But I do feel it would be cool to have some "conversion" kits..... like the b2 to b3, tc3 to tc3 rally, etc. We already hear a stealth is coming and the new chassis is ready to accept it. Well how about a "wide track front end kit" to create a ce? Add the stealth you got a stealth ce, and basically cover the team and world cars.... in a matter of speaking. Hell, what about a WOIN style kit right from the factory? There is plenty that could be done that revolves around just this single kit.
That's my hopes for it anyway....

Rumor who knows? Tower , A main , Stormer are still taking orderes. Question . Would it not be bad business to take orders that you can't fullfill ?gomachv wrote:Rumors were 2000 and 2500 but never a solid confirmation.

I just have a hard time believing they would only build 2000-2500. I would imagine that Tower would probably order half of that for their stock. That's just purely a guess but that really seems like a tiny quantity.

My thinking is this. Tower will list until there kits are sold out. Then post unavialible. Any cancelled pre-ordrer kits will then be listed as limited quanity.hawgfanman wrote:I just have a hard time believing they would only build 2000-2500. Money talks fellas. If they had 1 million preorders, that is a guaranteed 1 million kit sales. Lets say they made $20 bucks profit off each kit. Heres 20 mil profit for ya. Hard to turn your nose up at that kind of money in todays economy just for the sake of limited reminiscence.
And if new moulds were made for this kind of venture, they wouldn't even come close to paying the tooling costs with 2500 kit sales. I imagine they are not going to use new tooling. Maybe just touch up the old. The only new mould I imagine they will make is for the rear bulkhead. They are making it more Lipo friendly. Even then it would probably just be modified, not all new.
I was told that the majority sales for Tamiya R/C in the offroad dept. is from Re-Re's. Go figure.

I take it you didn't read the interview link.Brandon G wrote:Money talks fellas. If they had 1 million preorders, that is a guaranteed 1 million kit sales. Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
Sorry Brandon, it wouldn't be profit to them because there needs to be delineation between gross and net income. Also the laws of supply and demand will affect the selling price and likely the gross profit due back to Associated.
The interview link worried me enough to contact Tower and I got a fast response back from their customer service stating that although I might very well get the quantity I ordered there have been instances in the past for high demand items where they only supplied 1 per customer until the supply was exhausted. Regardless of the quantity preordered!

And the other thing he missed is that they are using all new molds. Every part is being made slightly differently than the original.
The molds will pay off in spare parts revenue.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
No, didn't listen to the link. My work does a pretty good job of blocking the interesting stuff provided on the internet.
And I'm not saying AE is responsible to fill ALL of the completed preorders.
What I AM saying is that the cost of making new plastic injection moulds these days is astronomical. Whether it is done here or china. It would not make sense (to me at least) to invest all that money and limit the return to such a small #.
